Saints Row The Third Goodies [No News Here]

Remember, remember, the fifteenth of November, 2011. That’s the date which had a ton of releases on the same day. Well, one of those just hit ground zero. Saints Row The Third was dropped off here and the whacky sandbox title came with a few extra goodies, I thought I might share. Is this news? No, it isn’t.

THQ’s title came with a nice and shiny cd and online unlock code (boo, unlock codes), a tour guide with Professor Genki, a constructible little bobble head and a smooth pair of shades.

The booklet is basically a small guide, introducing newcomers to the ways of Saints Row and the city of Steelport.  It’s filled with all sorts of hints and tips about the city and what to look out for and of course it’s also full of wit. Volition even hid a reference towards an old RPG classic, Summoner. Now that’s educational! It has so many Easter egg reveals; I’d think it was Easter, only it’s freezing out.

The bobble head thing, well, that speaks for itself. I enjoyed assembling it like one of those Kinder Surprise toys, except the head itself was also packaged like one: Inception! It has two modes of cheap plastic-y goodness: Bobble and not-so-bobble that is supposed to be fixed. It can also move arms. What a treat!

The sunglasses though are a nice way to finish in style. Along with a soft, white carrier bag, it also came with some tags that assured these shades are of near-mint quality. Only second best, these are supposed to be actually usable and withstand glare and so forth. Unfortunately, there’s about as much sun out right now as there is a hope for me getting a full night sleep with all these games on my desk. So instead, I thought I’d treat you to another classy finish: a pose with glasses.

Douchebag; am I doing it right?

Luckily, the game didn’t come with one of those promotional 4-foot “baseball bats,” because I was blocking the door (in that outfit) when the postman rung and my neighbor was behind him. My neighbor also happens to be a girl and it was awkward enough already, without having to explain myself with a life-size sex toy in hand. Again; this is not news and the mere fact you read this and wasted your time lies solely within your hands. But if it’s any consolation, I lost a lot more time making it for your enjoyment and my embarrassment than you did reading it. Happy tenth Fawkes day, everyone! A review will come as soon as I can juggle this between Skyrim, Rumble Trucks and Fighting Fantasy. Would you like progress reports, please say so in the comment section below and I’ll gladly oblige.
