Steam Summer Sale Round-up for July 3

Oh Steam Summercamp Sale, hast thou not tormented us enough? Seriously, if you insist on not buying anything during this sale for whatever reason (shortage of money, too big a backlog), stop reading this article and avoid the Steam store. The temptation will, at times, be hard to resists.

The sales for July 3 have just gone up, and there are a few very interesting titles among them, starting with Men of War: Assault Squad. You may remember our review on Digitalmindsoft's RTS title earlier this year, and as the writer of this article I can confirm that, with more than half of 2011 being behind us, Men of War: Assault Squad still stands at the best strategy game of the year so far. And at €7,49 (that's a 75% discount), there is even less reason to avoid trying it for yourself.

 

You may also remember our regular updates on ArmA II, the love-it-or-hate-it military simulator from Czech developer Bohemia. All of the games in the ArmA II canon (so that includes Operation Arrowhead and its expansions) have gone down 50%, pricing the main games at 15 euros and the DLCs at under 5. With a stripped-down version of the official ArmA II recently having gone F2P, 15 euros may be a bit steep for the full game, but I'd say Operation Arrowhead is definitely worth its price if you're into this kind of stuff. Note that a combo pack including ArmA II and Operation Arrowhead (but NOT the DLCs) is available for €20.

 

If you're more into arcade-style shooting, it may be interesting to take notice of Modern Warfare 2's 50% price drop, putting the game at the €20 mark. I personally find the price a bit steep for a game that already has been succeeded by Black Ops, with a direct sequel being scheduled for release in November.

Other potentially interesting items include sales on the entire Assassin's Creed franchise (€27 for the pack), the Dragon Age franchise (€35 for the pack) and Two Worlds II (€13,60).
