Transformers Wage War On Cybertron

People might think that this would be another tie-in video game to Michael Bay's take in the Transformers live-action movie adaptations. They can probably breathe a sigh of relief that it isn't. Activision is changing things up, not accompanying or even hinting a Transformers 3, but a standalone Transformers game, called War for Cybertron.
As the game's title would suggest Transformers: War for Cybertron takes place at the fictional planet of Cybertron, where the heroic Autobots and the antagonistic Decepticons engage in a never ending struggle in total domination over the entire planet. The game is most likely set before the events leading to the eventual crash landing on Earth, and players will get to see every Cybertronian's original transformations prior to that initial encounter. A teaser trailer for the game shows that civil war ensuing in the planet. Optimus Prime's design in the trailer has an uncanny resemblance to his design in the original cartoon adaptation than in the films in recent years.
As the Autobots and Decepticons would be duking it out endlessly, players will be able to focus on the story arc of both factions. Aside from the single player campaigns, there will also be online co-op and competitive multiplayer features in the game.
High Moon Studios will be in charge of the development of War for Cybertron, most notably for making games like Darkwatch and Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy. Activision has also announced that the game will be available for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and the PC next year, though it will also be on the Nintendo DS and Wii.
