Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops

I didn’t play a ton of Call of Duty: World at War, but I know for a fact the Nazi zombies mode was indeed popular among fans. I’m sure they will be happy to know that zombies will make a triumphant return in Treyarch’s latest frantic first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops. Josh Olin, Treyarch’s Community Manager, said that the much beloved mode will be included in the game’s special editions.

Boo.

Additionally, Olin said (via his Twitter) that all the four Zombie maps from World at War will be included in both the Hardened and Prestige editions of Black Ops. This has also been confirmed by a recent Best Buy listing. As for those who purchase just the standard version, Olin didn’t speculate if they will be able to acquire the maps as future DLC map packs or if they’ll even have the Nazi zombie mode from the start.

Treyarch is also planning to do a “full multiplayer reveal” on September 1st to make everything official. Call of Duty: Black Ops will launch on November 9, 2010 on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo Wii and DS. So if zombie-killing is your thing, this game might be worth purchasing.
