Getting started in 33 Immortals can be tough, and it is easy to get left behind. Even when you play with 32 other people, your teammates will die as you clear out Torture Chambers.
You will often find yourself completely alone, searching the map for items and just trying to stay alive.
Having a pet by your side will not increase your damage or help you survive, but it lets you show off your style. In this game, pets are called Familiars, and you can pick one to take with you before you head out into the Beyond. This guide shows you how to find and use them.

How to Get a Pet
To unlock Familiars, go talk to Charon in the Dark Woods. Look at his wardrobe menu and click on the fourth tab from the left. This opens up the pet section where you can buy them in 33 Immortals.
You will need Stardust to make a purchase, which you earn by jumping into the Inferno. You do not have to spend hours searching the map for Stardust like you do for Paragon. The game gives you some just for playing through your runs.
You can also get pets from enemy drops. While you fight monsters, they will sometimes drop Familiar Tokens.
If you pick one up, a new pet unlocks for free in the wardrobe of Charon. This is the exact same way Relic Tokens work. You do not have to spend any currency on these, and you can put them on the next time you visit the hub.
If you want to spend real money, there are five different bundles you can buy on the Epic Games Store or the Microsoft Store in 33 Immortals.
Every bundle includes a special pet that goes straight to the wardrobe of Charon. They come with other items too, which you can look up on the store pages.

How to Use Your Pet
You can only use one Familiar at a time. To put one on, talk to Charon at his shop. Go to the pet tab, highlight the animal you want, and press E on PC or A on a controller.
Your new friend will now follow you everywhere you go. You will see it next to you while you hang out in the safety of the Dark Woods and when you fight monsters in the Beyond. They do not add to your stats, but there are a lot of different kinds and rarities to collect in 33 Immortals.
