In 33 Immortals, relics are split into six unique categories called Paths. You can easily spot them by their visual themes. For example, the Path of Honor focuses on Inner Fire and uses rocks and gems for its artwork.
The relic system uses three main columns: Action Relics, Boost Relics, and Duo Relics. Action Relics require you to attack to trigger them.
Boost Relics amplify the special effect of their specific path, but you must own at least one relic from that path before they will show up in your rolls in 33 Immortals.
Duo Relics mix two paths together to create a new effect, which requires you to own a relic from both paths first. This guide focuses entirely on how Action Relics work.

Understanding Attack Instances
Action Relics trigger based on attack instances, not damage instances. Landing a massive hit does not automatically mean you triggered a heavy attack instance. For example, your special skills do not count as light or heavy attacks even if they deal light or heavy damage.
Furthermore, a relic can only trigger one single time per attack instance. It does not matter if your single strike hits one enemy or ten enemies at the same time.
The only exception to this rule is the Path of Malice, which focuses on critical hits and applies its effect to all damage dealt by that specific instance in 33 Immortals.
You will encounter four distinct types of attack instances during your runs. These consist of Light Attacks, Heavy Attacks, Ability Attacks, and Special Attacks. Special Attacks are rare moves that are usually triggered by specific weapon upgrades.

How Action Relic Columns Work
The Action Relics themselves are organized into four separate columns. Each column reacts to a very specific type of movement from your character.
The first column effects only trigger on the very next successful attack instance you land. The second column bonuses only apply when you use Light Attacks.
The third column bonuses only apply when you use Heavy Attacks. Finally, the fourth column effects trigger the moment you activate your character Ability.
The bonus applies to the following Ability Attack and covers any other attack instance you use for the next three seconds in 33 Immortals.
