Cozy Caravan Guide | How To Make Grandma Dolly’s Stew

One of the longest quests in Cozy Caravan is about helping Ellie make Grandma Dolly's Stew, which is a recipe that is important to her family's history. You need to look around and talk to people carefully for this activity because not all of the ingredients are listed. 

To continue forward, you need to get clues from certain characters before you can get everything you need to make the stew.

Starting The Stew Quest

To start this quest, you need to talk to Ellie at Hershey's Homestead. She says that the recipe has secret ingredients and tells you to inquire around. You can't get all the things you need right now. You can't get at least one ingredient until you've talked to every character who gives you a tip.

To progress, you need to walk through Hershey’s Homestead and nearby areas, speaking to every critter you encounter. Most will comment on the stew but say they do not know how to cook it. However, three specific individuals will each provide one essential clue.

Finding The Secret Ingredient Clues

All three hint-givers are located within the general area of Hershey’s Homestead. One is an otter standing near a fence. Another is Dazza, a ram you can find nearby. The third is Winnie, who works in the onion patch. Each of these characters will only give their hint once. After that, they will repeat a generic response and will not provide the clue again.

From these conversations, you learn that the stew requires a tomato from Berry’s Tomato Patch, sugar cane from Sweetness Way, and an herb found near Toffee Top Orchard.

Tracking Progress And Getting Help

If you lose track of what to do next, return to Ellie in Hershey’s Homestead. After a recent update, she provides clearer guidance and allows you to review your objectives through the Hershey’s Homestead Postcard on the map.

You will know that you have collected all three clues when your character displays a speech bubble summarizing the required ingredients. Once this appears, you can begin collecting each item to continue the quest.

How To Get The Herb

As of the 0.2.0 Update, the Herb is easier to find. You may be able to harvest it directly near Morty’s Pumpkin Patch and Eversprouts Grove, where it now grows naturally. It is unclear whether this herb is available before starting the quest, but it is accessible once you reach this stage.

In earlier versions of the game, the herb could only be obtained by speaking with Mabel, an NPC located across from the orchard near the community garden. Mabel would only appear after you gathered all three clues and would then give you the herb required for the stew.

Cooking The Stew

After collecting all secret ingredients, return to Ellie and speak with her again. She will ask you to prepare Grandma Dolly’s Stew. To complete this step, you must have the Stovetop Attachment installed on your oven. Once the stew is cooked, the quest can continue.
