Akai Tsuki is one of Dinoblade's major late-game boss encounters and consists of two consecutive forms: Akai Tsuki, The Blood Moon, followed by Akai Tsuki, True Form. The main challenge is not simply surviving the first phase, but doing so without wasting the healing and combat resources you will need against the much faster second form.

Prepare for Both Akai Tsuki Phases
Go into the encounter expecting one continuous two-phase fight. Akai Tsuki, The Blood Moon applies aggressive melee pressure, while the True Form adds significantly faster sword strings and ranged attacks.
Avoid emptying your Stamina bar during offensive combos. Dinoblade uses Stamina for attacks and defensive movement, so keeping a reserve lets you respond when Akai immediately begins another sequence.

Beat Akai Tsuki, The Blood Moon
During the first phase, Akai repeatedly pressures you with weapon swings and aggressive rushes. Do not chase the boss through an active attack sequence. Create enough space to read the incoming combination, defend or move through it, then attack once Akai reaches the recovery at the end.
Deflecting is valuable when you confidently know the timing, especially because Dinoblade's boss combat rewards clean defensive timing through the Resolve and Instinct Counter systems. When the timing is uncertain, prioritize surviving rather than forcing a parry and losing healing before phase two.
Beat Akai Tsuki, True Form
The second phase transforms the fight. Akai Tsuki, True Form uses two katanas and attacks with rapid slashes and overhead strikes. Let the multi-hit sword chain finish before moving in for your punish.

True Form can also launch fireballs from range. Do not remain stationary simply because you have created distance. Keep moving during the ranged attack, avoid the projectile, then prepare for Akai to close the gap again.
Short, controlled punish windows are safer than committing to your longest combo. The objective is to survive each attack sequence, deal damage during recovery, and reset your position before Akai starts again.
Claim the Reward
Defeating Akai Tsuki, True Form completes the encounter and makes the final sword from this section, Akai Chainbound, available to collect. Progression then continues beyond Red Ashe’s Swamp toward the snowy region.
Conserve resources against Akai Tsuki, The Blood Moon, then dodge the True Form's rapid sword chains and ranged attacks before punishing the recovery windows to win the fight.
