DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined Guide | Estard Island Secrets and Missables

A quick route to missables, Mini Medals, and Orange Sparks on Estard Island.

Game Guide by Faviyan Mustafiz on  Feb 06, 2026

Exploring Estard Island early can save you hours later. A few steps in the right order will get you a Fish Bits that you can miss, two early Mini Medals, and a few one-time Orange Sparks with special rewards.

Before Estard Castle, you can miss Fish Bits. It's easy to miss. After the first companion joins you and the quest tells you to go to Estard Castle, go back home first. Get Fish Bits by going back to Fishbel Village and talking to your mother, Pearl. It is in Important Items, but you can lose it if you go to the castle first and move the story forward.

Exchanging Fish Bits for Gold Coins

Go on to Estard Castle and talk to King Donald. After the talk, a door opens and you can get into the kitchen. You can get Gold Coins by talking to the Chef and giving him Fish Bits.

Where to Find Mini Medals in Estard Castle

Talk to the lady inside Estard Castle to get the Medal Album right away. To get the first Mini Medal, talk to King Donald, go up to the second floor, and then go up to the roof. Find the king's bedroom and look for it there.

There is a second Mini Medal in the same area, but you can't get it until later in the story when a locked door opens. Once it does, go down, find the raft, and use it to get across. Look at the barrels on the other side until you find the medal.

Blue Sparks and Orange Sparks that happen only once

Blue Sparks are common and usually drop small loot, like one gold coin. They come back after about 15 minutes. Orange Sparks are one-time pickups that give you special loot, so get them as soon as you can.

All of the Early Orange Spark Locations

The first Orange Spark is not far from Fishbel Village. Leave the village, turn left, and go in a circle until you see a hidden sparkle. The prize is something that will help you get away from the fight.

On the way to Estard Castle, you will find the next Orange Spark. Take the outer route from the entrance, go out the side door, and follow the path until you see the sparkle. This one gives you a seed of strength. There is another Orange Spark to the right of the village area, but the pass is blocked at first. Go see King Donald, then come back to get a Seed of Agility.

Go back to Aad and check the well after you get the first tablet. There is a rope that goes down to another Orange Spark. There is one last Orange Spark near Estard Castle, but it doesn't show up until much later.

The Wrecked Specs Side Task in Estard Castle

After you talk to King Donald, a door on the first floor opens. Go straight ahead, go down, and look for an old man who is looking for his glasses. Look through the pots and barrels until you find Wrecked Specs. You can keep Wrecked Specs for one defense or give it back for a story item reward.
