This guide will help you get through the Automaton Stronghold in the Past so you can finish the Frobisher part of your journey.

Entering the Stronghold

Travel to the northeast to find the Automaton Stronghold. Before you go inside, visit the Angel statue on the north side of the grounds to save your progress. After a scene plays at the entrance, move toward the elevator to go deeper into the building.

Fighting the Automatons

The first part of this challenge involves a fight against three enemies known as Automaton. You should use moves that target their weaknesses, like the Lightning Slash from Kiefer.

Try to use items to restore health during this part so you can save your MP for the tougher fights coming up next in DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined.

Defeating Tinpot Dictator

The second stage of the battle puts you against the Tinpot Dictator and two more Automaton guards. You need to focus all your attacks on the Tinpot Dictator because he will just call for more help if his guards fall.

If you see the boss going after a certain friend, put Buff on them right away to keep them standing. If you can, use skills that hit more than one enemy at a time. Just make sure you have enough health and magic for the last round.

Stopping Slaughtomaton

The last phase is a fight against the Slaughtomaton. To win this, have Maribel use her Crack spell and let Kiefer use Lightning Slash to deal heavy damage in DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined.

You can make the boss more vulnerable to these hits by using Aqua Slash to lower its resistance to Lightning.

The Hero should focus on casting Buff and Heal whenever the group gets hurt. If Ruff has any magic left, he can use a skill; otherwise, he should just keep attacking.
