Finding a place to farm Metal Slime early on can help you move through Dragon Quest VII Reimagined faster. This guide shows you a simple way to do things that works as soon as you get to Roamer Encampment. It also suggests a small change to your setup that will make it more likely that you will get a lucky instant kill.

What You Need to Get to the Spot

You can only use this farming route after you finish the Roamer Encampment or get to that point in the story. The route is still useful even if you come back later, so either option works. After that, leave the camp and start triggering fights with people nearby.

The Best Way to Set Up for Metal Slime Hunting

Put Poison Needle on Maribel before you start. This is a good idea because it gives you a 10% chance to kill an enemy right away. It's not very likely, but instant kills are very important when hunting Metal Slime because they save time and give you more experience points.

Where to Find Metal Slimes on This Route

Start fights just outside Roamer Encampment and watch the enemy line up at the start of each fight. It's not certain that you'll find Metal Slime, but it can show up with other common enemies in this area, such as Great Sabrecub mobs. It helps you stay focused on the right fights if you remember the usual enemy groups.

How to Run the Farm Well

Keep the cycling battles in the same area close by. When a Metal Slime shows up, you need to act quickly and focus on attacks that can kill it quickly, like Maribel's Poison Needle.

If the Metal Slime doesn't show up, finish the fight quickly and move on to the next one to keep things moving. If you're lucky, you might see up to two Metal Slime in the same battle. This makes this early game farming spot even better.
