Echoes of the Living Guide | Motel Safe Code

The safe at the Victoria Motel is one of the best early-game power-ups. When you open it, you get the Monarch (pistol), which does reliable damage from a distance, and the Combat Knife, which lets you kill enemies without wasting ammo. This combination makes the motel area safer and helps you save healing items.

How to get to the safe in the Victoria Motel

Once you're inside the Victoria Motel and have moved around enough to be able to move around freely, go to Room 8 and enter the code 962Y3Z. Keep walking through the motel until night. 

Then, go to the Motel Reception and get the Motel Staff Key. You can get to the Main Office behind the reception desk, where the Safe is, with the Motel Staff Key.

The code for the motel safe is 68531.

Type in the full five-digit code, 68531, and then interact with the Safe. Make sure you enter all five digits, because the code can be hard to read in low light. The safe door opens right away once it is confirmed.

What you can find inside the safe

Get the rewards right away by opening the safe. The Monarch pistol and the Combat Knife are the most important things to pick up. Get the Combat Knife ready for close combat and the Monarch ready for when a clean shot is better than a swing. 

This is also a good time to rearrange your inventory so that the new weapon slots don't get in the way of important items.

Quick next step after getting the prizes

After you have everything, keep going down the motel route by getting the Backyard Key and using it on the Backyard Door on the other side of the Cafeteria. Leaving through the back yard keeps things moving forward and sets up the next area without going back.
