Echoes of the Living Guide | Greta Spider Boss Fight
Beat Greta in the Attic with clean spacing, smart heals, and safe damage windows.
Game Guide by Ornstein on Feb 28, 2026
The Greta fight is one of the greatest difficulty spikes in Echoes of the Living. The arena feels tight, the camera can cut at bad times and missing shots wastes precious ammo.
The goal is simple. Stay calm, keep distance, punish only when Greta commits and end the fight without burning your whole stock.
Prep Before Entering the Attic

Read Greta’s Movement and Control the Space
Greta wins when you get stuck on corners or hesitate after a camera change. Keep moving in a wide loop so the arena stays readable. When the camera flips, pause for a half step and re-center the movement direction and continue doing it.
This keeps you from running into the boss by accident. Do not panic-shoot if Greta closes the gap. Create space first, fire when the target is stable.

Safe Damage Windows That Save Ammo
The cleanest shots happen after a committed lunge or during recovery. Let Greta finish the move, after that step into a stable angle and fire once. Back away right after the hit. One confident shot is better than two rushed shots that miss.
If using the Double Barrel Shotgun, treat each blast like a decision. Take the hit when the boss is centered and close enough to guarantee contact. When using lighter firearms, aim for consistency and avoid dumping a full magazine during a shaky camera.

Healing Without Losing Control
Healing at the wrong time is the fastest way to die. Heal only after creating distance, ideally when Greta is repositioning and the path is clear.
If health drops into danger range, the next safe moment is worth taking, even if it costs a few seconds. Staying alive keeps the fight efficient. If you are carrying multiple healing items, use the smaller one first and keep the strongest heal for a true emergency.
What To Do Right After the Fight

Once Greta goes down, reset your inventory and continue the objective flow in the same area. Look for the Generator interaction that follows the encounter, since progression can depend on restoring power.
After that, use the moment of safety to reload, reorganize supplies and prepare for the next corridor before moving on.
