To get the Legendary Boons in Hades II, you have to prove your dedication to the gods by collecting three specific Boons from their arsenal. You'll unlock the Legendary Boons ranked from S to D.

Zeus - Shocking Loss

Shocking Loss represents a solid addition to your arsenal that demonstrates particular strength when you're dealing with Fear modifiers that enhance enemy durability and health pools. However, its reliability issues prevent it from reaching top-tier status among Legendary Boons.

The inconsistent nature of this Boon's trigger mechanism creates its primary limitation. If the effect instead guaranteed the instant destruction of every fifth susceptible enemy you damaged, it would present a much stronger case for higher tier placement in Hades II.

Currently, it functions more as a welcome enhancement to your run when obtained, though it remains relatively straightforward to build toward.

Building Requirements

Your journey to Shocking Loss starts by getting any of Zeus's starting Boons. This enables you to mix it with a variety of build types without completely committing to a Zeus-specialised build.

You might choose Blitz combined with Attack or Special Boons, utilise his cast for supplementary damage without complications, or select Ionic Gain, which provides solid value across multiple build archetypes in Hades II.

While Zeus's Sprint isn't optimal due to its potential Magick drain if used carelessly, it remains a viable option.

The second requirement involves obtaining one of four specific Boons. Static Shock offers genuine value for many builds, despite its Prime cost, which may create problems.

Spirit Surge in Hades II provides free damage at minimum and serves as a reasonable pickup. Lightning Lance delivers excellent utility, though it can significantly slow Charon Axe builds.

Divine Vengeance, functioning as a damage-when-taken effect, occasionally proves decent when other preferred options aren't available.

The third requirement presents the most challenging aspect. You need some form of lightning effect to access Double Strike, which includes any of Zeus's core Boons except Gain, plus Spirit Surge, Divine Vengeance, or Lightning Lance.

Alternatively, Blitz investment opens up two other possibilities: Toasting Fork or Electric Overload. Double Strike remains the ideal choice, though unlucky runs might never present it. Blitz builds see a dramatic improvement in this regard in Hades II.

Combat Effectiveness

Shocking Loss affects all enemy types, with notable exceptions among Wardens and all Guardians. A practical rule for Wardens' exclusions: if an enemy displays a boss bar, the effect won't apply (such as King Vermin and Talos).

This Legendary Boon can create drawbacks when running Hitch, since fewer enemies mean reduced Hitch targets for splash damage.

Otherwise, it provides excellent run enhancement. Twenty per cent of your enemies will be eliminated instantly, potentially including some Wardens with favourable luck in Hades II.

This proves particularly valuable when facing Fear time limits or when struggling with rapid enemy elimination, as Fear modifiers that boost enemy toughness can be bypassed through this effect.

The primary issue remains inconsistency. Some runs feature complete enemy deletion and immediate encounter completion, while others see triggers only on stragglers you would have eliminated quickly regardless.

Hestia - Fire Walk

Fire Walk presents a genuinely unique Legendary Boon that possesses sufficient strength to warrant respect, yet requires specific knowledge for proper utilisation. Understanding its mechanics becomes essential for appreciating its potential in Hades II.

Acquisition Requirements

The requirements represent one of this legend's significant downsides. Your first requirement involves Hestia's Attack, Special, or Cast core Boons.

Interestingly, while you might expect Scorch infliction as the reason, her Sprint Boon also applies Scorch, yet it is omitted. Her remaining two core Boons don't factor into requirements whatsoever.

The second requirement includes Natural Gas (offering decent Scorch synergy), Hot Pot (providing excellent defensive value, especially with frequent Scorch application), Pyro Technique (nearly essential for Scorch damage scaling at higher Fear levels), or Highly Flammable (occasionally beneficial but sometimes ineffective in Scorch builds).

All four options require the first requirement, Boons, which demands a substantial commitment to Hestia in Hades II.

Your third requirement involves Glowing Coal (presenting similar Charon Axe build slowdowns as Lightning Lance, but even more pronounced, while remaining excellent utility otherwise) or Controlled Burn (most Omega Specials handle the Magick cost increase well, though some don't synergise effectively with the projectile, making effectiveness weapon and rarity dependent).

The first two requirements typically indicate a Scorch build commitment, while the third proves to be highly specific. Without reroll manipulation, you might never encounter those two final Boons in Hades II.

Strategic Application

Fire Walk possesses deceptively powerful capabilities. The flame trail damage application rate represents this Boon's primary advantage.

You establish a position in specific battlefield areas, then guide enemies there (potentially using Aphrodite's cast for enemy manipulation), allowing your accumulated damage to eliminate them afterwards in Hades II.

This Boon destroys enemies lacking high mobility. While Chronos's phase 1 limits usage opportunities, proper dodge timing generally allows positioning near tanky enemies to orchestrate their elimination.

Despite Scorch being an explicit requirement, the fire damage operates independently. It doesn't constitute Scorch, isn't applied as Scorch, and doesn't inflict Scorch. Instead, it delivers pure concentrated damage in Hades II.

The main weakness stems from the required Hestia commitment levels. If Hestia's Boons matched Zeus's quality, this could achieve higher tier placement, as it provides genuinely substantial damage that appears infrequently due to restrictive requirements.

Optimization Scenarios

This Boon particularly excels during boss encounters when you might struggle with damage output speed, especially with Hestia investment.

High Fear ideally demands quick room clearing due to time constraints, making this Boon shine against bosses, specifically.

Optimal scenarios involve your cast not being crucial to your kit, allowing Hestia's cast selection to fill the slots.

Subsequently picking up Scorch effects when other Hestia options seem unappealing, then finding Glowing Coal to enhance cast viability, Fire Walk provides excellent damage enhancement for approaching enemies while adding boss DOT capability in Hades II.
