In this guide, you’ll learn how to trounce Aris. This boss fight consists of a single phase that repeats three times, with a combination of basic abilities and a special attack. Knowing how to position yourself and time your dodges is key to maintaining consistent damage output while avoiding unnecessary hits.

Boss Abilities and Dodging

At the start of the fight, Aris uses four basic abilities and one special ability. The first ability is a Charge attack, where she moves forward and shoots in both directions, hitting a wide area. You can avoid this by dodging through the attack or staying out of its range. Avoid dodging to the sides, as that usually leads to taking damage in Hades II.

The second ability functions like a Rocket Launcher, targeting the floor with a large, Red Glowing area. You simply need to move out of the marked zone to avoid damage. The third ability is a Rapid-Fire attack aimed directly at you.

This is the ability that hits most players. Ideally, you should stand behind pillars as she shoots, but if the pillars are destroyed, you can dodge through Aris to avoid taking damage in Hades II.

The fourth basic ability occurs when Aris flies up and summons additional enemies. This is typically followed by her special attack, which is a fast Laser shot. You can dodge this Laser by standing behind a pillar, though the pillar will be destroyed in the process.

Phase Mechanics

At 75%, 50%, and 25% health, Aris shields herself and launches a large Rocket above her, temporarily boosting her damage by 100%. During this phase, she starts firing Missiles in the general area around you in Hades II.

You can exploit this by moving away before she begins shooting, creating a temporary safe zone where you can deal damage without being hit. Once the Rockets are in the air, you have a small window for free DPS.

After this phase, Aris repeats her abilities, although some are enhanced. For example, the Rocket Launcher now fires continuous Volleys instead of a single Rocket in Hades II.

General Strategy

The core strategy against Aris is to master dodging the Rapid-Fire attack and the charge, as these abilities are fast and difficult to telegraph due to the boss’s small design. If you struggle with the fight, focus on dodging until she uses the Rocket Launcher. Once the Rockets are in the air, you can take a few seconds to deal damage safely. Essentially, your DPS window comes primarily from avoiding the Launcher attacks and maintaining distance until the right moment.

Unlike other bosses, Binding Circle has minimal impact against Aris and her charge, since she frequently moves around. Its main benefit is the damage buff it provides in Hades II.
