John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando Guide | How to Get Hold the Door Trophy
Protect the church gates in Church of the Damned and stop the swarm before it breaks through.

Hold the Door! The trophy is earned by preventing enemies from damaging the church gates in Church of the Damned. That means the full defense section matters. Even one bad push can ruin the run, so the safest approach is to play around the gates from the start and treat every wave like a priority target.
Start the Defense Fast
The setup begins in Boston, where the first wave ends and the real trouble starts. You only stopped by to grab something, but Gallagher needs time for the tower to charge up. The moment the defense begins, the key warning is clear: the weakest defenses are at the front door and the side gate. That is where attention should first be directed.

Leon also points out that Gallagher led Hopewell, the paramilitary group that locked down the area. That detail helps place the scene, but the important part for the trophy is the pressure on the entrance points. You need to step it up early and not give the horde time to stack at the gates.
Watch the Front Door and Side Gate
The best way to handle this section is to keep moving between both weak spots. The front door is a weak point, and the side gate can also fall apart if left unchecked for too long. Since there are only four of you, every second matters. Use whatever's available and clear enemies before they pile onto the barriers.
At one point, the call comes in: the knock was heard, the tower is turning up, and the weak spots need to be watched because the next wave is coming. That is the section where the run can collapse if the defense is split too late.

Use the Tower and Keep Fire Controlled
The defense gets easier once the EMP Tower becomes part of the fight. When the prompt comes up to load into the EMP Tower, make use of it. It helps hold the line and gives you more control over the crowd. That control is important because the gates need protection more than flashy kills.

Keep fire focused and direct. The transcript makes the mood clear. There is pressure, there is blame, and there is no time to waste. Camping does not help if enemies are already walking toward you and are about to reach the gate.
Hold Until the Final Push
Near the end, the tower is almost ready, but the danger is not over. Enemies are still at the door, and that last stretch is where the trophy attempt can fail.
Stay close enough to react fast, keep the front clear, and do not let any wave touch the church gates.
