Puzzle Quest: Immortal Guide | Best Paladin Builds (Easy Mode & All-Rounder)
Two high-power setups: a fast stealth build and a versatile spell-focused build.
Game Guide by Ornstein on Oct 02, 2025
The Paladin offers two standout approaches that can clear the game with confidence. One is an “easy mode” stealth build that leans on a powerful gear combo to blitz content; the other is an all-rounder build that showcases the Paladin’s excellent spell suite and adaptable playstyle. Both paths are strong enough to finish the game—choose based on whether you prefer explosive speed or a class-true experience.
“Easy Mode” Stealthy Battle-Paladin

This extremely powerful and fast build can obliterate literally all enemies in the game. If you are looking for an easy, relaxed, and effortless playthrough, this is for you. The build is based on a previous generic setup, the “easy mode” stealthy hero.
In order to avoid repeating details, here the specifics focus on applying the build to the Paladin. If you want more in-depth explanations of the basis of the build and its pieces, check the generic build.
This build assumes you make the following choices during quests:
Become a Bartonian Knight in Side Quest 1.13 Knightly Orders (Bartonia) to get the Iron Lance. Return the key in Side Quest 2.8 Dwarven Heirloom (Dhun-Kor) to get the Dwarf-Friend award (+2 Morale).
Return the axe in Goblin Trader Quest 2.3 Reassembly (Gruuldok) to get the Master Merchant award (+4 Cunning). Let the Medusa live in Revenge of the Plague Lord Quest 2.1 Syrena (Gallia) to get the Serpent Friend award (+4 Cunning).
Skills

This build focuses on leveling up Battle as high as possible to deal high amounts of skull damage. Here is the suggestion for skill distribution of a level 60 character. Take into account that you will probably finish the game well before reaching that, likely around level 50 or so, when evaluating the end goals for the skills.
Skill points: put all points into Battle until level 53. If you keep going above, put the rest of the points into Air Mastery. Temple points: use them as preferred.
Early-mid game
At the beginning your main strategy should be filling your yellow mana and killing with Smiting Blow. The Paladin offers a wide range of useful spells, so use them wisely until you can purchase Thief’s Cowl and Chameleon Ring and start slaughtering everything on your path.
Capture the Giant Spider as soon as possible for the extra Battle levels and its fantastic spell. You will need to wait until getting the Master Merchant and Serpent Friend awards to purchase the Chameleon Ring (beginning of Chapter 2). Until then, you can research Hide and use it together with the Thief’s Cowl and the Web spell for some extra damage.
Late-end game

Once you get the Thief’s Cowl, Chameleon Ring, and Iron Lance, it is time to enjoy the full power of this build. Use gem-converting spells to make 4+ matches and trigger the ring, use skull-converting/creating spells to fill the board with skulls, and then annihilate enemies with 4x damage stunning blows.
Once you reach level 40 hero and level 183 Battle, even a normal 3-skull match will stun the opponent thanks to the Iron Lance, making it extremely easy to kill with little opposition.
All-Rounder Air-Paladin
This build focuses on making the most of the Paladin’s wide variety of spells, by being an all-rounder that can be adapted to any strategy you want to take. Skull damage, spell damage, healing, mana gaining, gem destruction—this build can do all of them with ease, making it a great option if you want to try different strategies and ways of playing.
It is straightforward to develop and use, it does not require deep knowledge to shine, and it remains a strong build with multiple win conditions and easy adaptation to different enemies, even if it is not as fast and explosive as the “easy mode” build at late game.

This build assumes you make the following choices during quests:
Become a Sirian Knight in Side Quest 1.13 Knightly Orders (Bartonia) for the specific awards.
Skills
This build focuses heavily on Air Mastery for maximum value. The suggested skill level distribution for a level 60 character offers flexibility with both skill and Temple points; you will probably finish the game around level 50, so treat end goals accordingly. Skill points: put all points into Air Mastery.
Temple points: start with 13 points into Cunning to help you start first and gain extra gold and XP from wins; then put 4 points into Morale. Once you get all the Morale awards you will reach level 15 needed to purchase all gear pieces. Continue with 18 points into Battle (level 20). Put 7 points into Earth, Fire, and Water Masteries (all to level 8). Then put points into Battle until reaching level 50.
