R.E.P.O. Guide | All Monsters and How to Beat Them

A complete, quick monster guide to survive runs, protect loot, and extract in R.E.P.O.

R.E.P.O. means Retrieve, Extract, and Profit Operation. You grab valuables, keep them intact, and reach extraction while monsters try to wipe you out. When you cannot afford Grenades, Guns, or Melee Weapons from the In-Game Shop, survival comes from recognition, cover, and clean escapes.

Apex Predator

Apex Predator looks like a duck that follows you around and begs for your attention. It copies what you do and tries to get you to click or tap. If you touch it, it transforms into a wrath form that bites for about 10 seconds.

Don't pay attention to it, give it space, and don't swing by accident. If you need to get rid of it, put it in a toilet or a cauldron to temporarily turn it off.

Animal

Animal crawls with frantic flailing, chipping health, and smacking valuables. It can cling to you and briefly stun you, making follow-up hits even worse. It is slow and usually manageable. Picking it up scares it and makes it bolt away, even when you are solo.

Banger

A banger is a skull with dynamite on it, and it's not often worth fighting up close. It usually spawns in groups of three. The fuse lights up when it sees you or gets struck, and it charges until it bursts with a lot of knockback. Make space, turn corners, and let it blow up away from the loot.

Bowtie

Bowtie shouts to push you back, and the risk comes from being pushed into walls, junk, or other dangers. It can go into a more aggressive charge. When the gear is weak, hide early and let it go. If the gear is strong, break it down before it takes over your position.

Chef

Chef shuffles until it commits to a deadly leap that travels in a straight line. Sidestep the lane instead of backing up in a line. After a miss, Chef ragdolls briefly, giving you a safe window to escape or land hits.

Clown

A top-tier threat, clowns move at high speeds and deal massive damage. As soon as it launches its laser strike, you will lose line of sight, and a single kick from it can send you hurtling into the air.

Avoid winding hallways, cluster around the solid cover, and quickly duck your head when the beam begins. If you're armed with a powerful weapon or stun gun, take advantage of the opening; otherwise, staying hidden will get you the victory.

Gnome

Gnome is small and fragile, but it still chips away at you if ignored. Picking it up and throwing it into a wall can destroy it. A thrown Gnome can also stun other enemies, buying seconds to grab loot or reach a doorway.

Headman

A floating head called a "headman" will charge at you, bite you hard, and knock you back. Long hallways aren't good for it. To avoid coming too close, hide under tables or in tight quarters. The next step is to divert your gaze and wait for it to go.

Hidden

Breathing, footfall, and smoky trails can all give away its location. When it touches you, it grips you and runs away, dropping what you have and often putting you in even more danger. Don't enter open lanes when they are closed. Hide early and stay close to your teammates so they can pull you free.

Huntsman

Huntsman can't see, but he can hear. If you step loudly, jump, talk on the phone, or clang things together, it can happen. At close range, the shotgun blast can kill you. Stay still, be silent, and wait for it to walk by. Explosives and heavy weaponry are the safest way to fight if you have to.

Peeper

Peepers frequently perch on ceilings and beam down at unsuspecting victims. The pain begins with just a short glance and continues until the line of sight is broken. Roll back, slice the angle at the back of the door frame, and proceed. In a group setting, it is possible to maintain everyone's health by alternating targets.

Mentalist

Mentalist lifts you with anti-gravity and removes control, then slams you into the floor or nearby objects for heavy damage. Do not challenge it in open rooms. Stay hidden, use cover to break contact, and remove it quickly if a weapon is ready.

Reaper

Reaper hits quickly and in a way that stacks damage and can also break things of value. It's especially risky near your Cart, where a nasty confrontation could cost you money. Don't get caught, stay away from loot heaps when you fight, and get away through tight corners instead of open lanes.

Robe

A Robe can move swiftly, attack brutally, and stalk gently. It is dangerous to fight without proper equipment. Put it out of your mind for a while by being silent. When you're passing, don't come too close to anything that makes a sound, and instead find anything to hide behind.

Rugrat

Objects thrown by a Rugrat, like weapons, make it a hazardous animal. Untidy rooms provide ammunition, and a single hit can terminate the run. Stay clear of obstacles, battle in an organized area, and eliminate the danger quickly if you have a weapon.

Shadow Child

Shadow Child can teleport and only becomes deadly when you look at it. If you look someone in the eye, they will jump out at you and hurt you. Don't chase it; just look away, keep moving, and let it teleport away.

Spewer

Spewer can grab you and make you throw up now and again. The vomit can hurt foes, but it can also break important things and hit comrades. If it sticks, turn your back to it and keep it away from loot. When aimed correctly, the vomit might create space for a stronger creature to chase you.

Trudge

Trudge is slow, tough, and can finish a run with a single hit. When it doesn't see you, it's manageable, so be patient. Stay calm, hide, and let it go by. If you get caught, don't hide badly because it can lead to close cover.

Upscream

Upscream stuns you with a scream that forces your view toward it while it deals chip damage. It can chain stuns if you stay in range. Back up, break the angle, and remove it quickly, as it dies quickly. If fighting is not possible, hide and wait for it to wander off.
