Slime Rancher 2 Guide | All the Gordo Locations

You will find massive stationary Slimes called Gordo in Slime Rancher 2 that will block your paths and hide secrets. They remain fixed in one place, unlike regular Slimes. Because they remain fixed in one place, they require a large amount of food before they burst and reveal shortcuts, items, or portals.

Each Gordo has a food preference, and feeding them the right type will speed up the process. There are three major regions to explore outside the Conservatory: Rainbow Fields, Starlight Strand, and Ember Valley, and each is home to several unique Gordo.

Rainbow Fields Gordo

Rainbow Fields contains three Gordo: Pink, Cotton, and Phosphor.

The Pink Gordo is located in the westernmost area of the fields; instead of climbing the hill, circle clockwise to spot it. This Gordo accepts any food and, if you feed it enough, it will open a water spout that launches explorers onto a cliff where a switch unlocks access to Ember Valley.

The Cotton Gordo prefers vegetables, and you can find it in the southeast of the Fabricator Port. You have to travel up the hill to discover it. Feeding this Gordo clears a cave entrance that leads to a switch, opening a passage into Starlight Strand.

You will see The Phosphor Gordo waits inside a cave near the Conservatory's southern exit, which is close to the docked boat. It thrives on fruit. Feeding it will reward you with access to a treasure chest hidden behind it.

Starlight Strand Gordo

Starlight Strand is home to five Gordo: Hunter, Honey, Angler, Flutter, and Ringtail.

You will find The Hunter Gordo near the locked door deep within the Strand. These Gordo prefer meat. Its location will become clear by following the left-hand path uphill and looping around in a clockwise direction. Feeding it will reveal a treasure chest containing Azure Bushes and open another slime doorway.

The Honey Gordo rests on a ledge above a waterfall just south of the arrival portal. They are fond of fruit. Clearing it will grant you access to chests containing Tall Pink Coral Columns and a Tank Liner. It will also reveal two slime doors that can be unlocked with Phosphor Plorts for shortcuts.

The Angler Gordo also favors meat and can be reached on the far southeastern coast. You have to go to the sandy beach and enter a cave to find it. Feeding this Gordo will open an up-spout that serves as a fast return route.

Directly in front of a cracked, shining door in the southern center area is where you will find the Flutter Gordo. Its favorite meal is Moondew Nectar, which you must gather while exploring, as it cannot be grown.

After you feed, the Gordo will unveil subterranean ruins that have a gateway leading back to Starlight Strand and a Research Drone. Since feeding this Gordo takes time, it is strongly advised to gather Moondew Nectar while exploring. 

The Ringtail Gordo will accept any food and is found on a stone bridge east of the cracked door in the south-central zone. During the day, it transforms into a stone statue, so you have to approach it at night. Once you feed it, it will activate a teleporter that returns to Rainbow Fields.

Ember Valley Gordo

Ember Valley features five Gordo: Boom, Batty, Crystal, Rock, and Tabby.

You will see The Boom Gordo hidden deep within the volcanic area on the western side of the island. And this Gordo eats meat. Behind the island, lies a Research Drone and two treasure pods, containing a Strange Diamond and an Ember Valley portal.

The Batty Gordo can be found in the lowest western caves. It prefers fruit. Feeding it will unlock an alternate pathway leading back to the volcano.

The Crystal Gordo is another vegetable-eater that sits in the northern Ember Valley near a deep chasm. From the Y-junction, you have to head north to find it below a cliff. Clearing it opens a new up-spout, making travel through the region easier.

The Rock Gordo, who also prefers vegetables and can be discovered in a small cave near the teleporter entrance. Although the door blocking it requires Boom Plorts, it can also be reached by carefully climbing. Feeding it activates an up-spout that provides access to a Jetpack Drive upgrade.

The Tabby Gordo is located at the northern tip of Ember Valley on a tall sea pillar past the Crystal Gordo's chasm. When cleared, it will reveal a teleporter that connects back to Rainbow Fields. This Gordo is also a meat-eater.

In Slime Rancher 2, Gordo are very important as they unlock portals, access treasure pods, or open shortcuts. Carrying the right foods, especially favorites like Moondew Nectar or Heart Beets, ensures quicker progress and makes the adventure smoother.  Taking time to hunt down each Gordo is not only rewarding but also an essential step toward mastering Rainbow Island.
