Titan Quest 2 has a lot of quest items spread out around the world. Some of them can be used to start mini-tasks, which give big rewards like regular side quests.
These things usually don't come with much information, so you'll have to figure out on your own what they're for and where they belong.
If you finish these hidden tasks, you'll quickly gain experience and get functional upgrades for your gear.
The Trickster's Shrine quest starts with a puzzle about Hermes and requires killing a particular creature in a certain way.
This staff is the key to starting the quest. This quest has nothing to do with the Strange Jar or its plot about Hermes in Titan Quest II.

How to Find the Caduceus
The Caduceus is in a small group of bandits' homes where there are only a few enemies. To get to this spot, go northeast of Pyrgos in the Southern Flooded Farmland area.
You can either go straight through the marsh, which is the shortest way, or you can take a northern loop that goes in the same direction as The Search for the Sky God quest before turning eastward in Titan Quest II.

How to Use the Caduceus at the Shrieking Shrine
As soon as you have the Caduceus, go to the Shrieking Shrine, which is northwest of Pyrgos and farther north than the Caduceus.
To start the Trickster Shrine quest, put the staff on the stand in the middle of the shrine.
Figuring out the Hermes' Beast puzzle
This quest only lasts a short time, but you need to know which monster Hermes first killed. The answer is a Turtle, which you can find by looking at the partly damaged scroll next to the pottery on the pedestal's right.
When you leave the Shrieking Shrine and head south, you'll see a Turtle outside the door. Don't kill it right away in Titan Quest II.
Before you reload your game, go back to the main menu and kill all the Turtle enemies close by. They will then respawn in Titan Quest II.

Getting the Turtle Challenge done
You have to lead the Turtle back to the shrine without killing it along the way once you've found it.
It doesn't matter what your character's traits are; the Turtle does minor damage and will always follow you if you stay in front of it and don't run ahead.
When the Turtle gets close enough to the shrine, it will give off a glow that lets you know it's safe to kill.

When you finish this action, the quest is over and different amounts of Gold fall from the central Altar for you to gather in Titan Quest II.
