In Winter Burrow, you return as a mouse entering an old forest home. The game centers on managing needs and restoring the burrow. The cold and resource systems require steady attention, and early actions shape how long you can stay outside or complete tasks.

Managing Your First Night
When the game begins, you should not leave the house during the night. The low temperature during this time causes your character to freeze for a short span. You should sleep until daytime instead of moving outside in Winter Burrow.
Daylight reduces the risk of the cold, allowing you to collect resources. At the start, the game instructs you to gather sticks inside the house to start the fireplace. If your character becomes cold, stay near the fire to warm up.
Repairing the Armchair
One of your first objectives is to repair the Armchair in the burrow. Repairing it allows you to knit a Sweater, which provides temperature control when outdoors. A repaired Armchair also improves the way you regain energy when resting.

Before moving far from the burrow, you should gather materials from nearby spots to support early repairs and tasks in Winter Burrow.
Understanding Survival Meters
Your character has several systems that affect survival. Stamina decreases when you run or perform work. Hunger rises when you go too long without eating. Warmth drops when you stay outside without shelter or proper clothing.
Breath drains when you use tools such as the axe or pickaxe. If any system reaches zero, your character receives penalties and may die if ignored. Keeping these meters stable is the core of the game.
Basic Gathering and Crafting
Progress comes from collecting materials, crafting tools, and unlocking new resources. One of your early tasks is crafting an Axe, which lets you chop wood and gather grass. These materials are used for repairing the burrow and building upgrades.

Each tool and upgrade expands the number of areas you can reach and the tasks you can complete. The cycle of gathering and crafting continues as you open more parts of the map in Winter Burrow.
Restoring and Expanding Your Home
As you advance, you can repair or open more sections of your burrow. This includes the Bridge, which allows you to reach new zones, and the Second Floor, which is initially locked.
Outdoor sections later allow gathering and small farming. Each repair increases the available space and supports further progress.

Playing at Your Own Pace
Winter Burrow places no time limits on your actions. You can plan your tasks, upgrade the burrow at your convenience, and collect resources without pressure. The game allows steady progress based on your decisions and routine in Winter Burrow.
