AMD 25.10.1 preview drivers were recently released to bring support for Battlefield 6. The naming convention may seem confusing at first: 25 stands for 2025, 10 for October, and 1 for the first revision of that month.
These drivers are called "preview" because they are not the final official release yet. They are mainly meant to prepare systems for Battlefield 6, but some small improvements are already visible.

What These Drivers Include
Right now, the 25.10.1 preview drivers primarily add support for Battlefield 6. Other than that, the changes are minor. There are no major performance improvements for other games or applications yet. AMD will release the official drivers soon, and they are expected to include additional fixes, optimizations, and support for other games.
Currently, AMD has two types of drivers:
- Official drivers – still on the 25.10 branch.
- Preview drivers (25.20 branch) – meant for PyTorch and Agility SDK features.
The upcoming drivers in the new branch will bring a few extra improvements. For example, when applying new overclocking or undervolting profiles, you will now see a notification at the bottom of the screen asking if you want to apply the changes.
Earlier, this option was only in the top-right corner and not very noticeable. This small UI change makes it easier to manage your system settings.
The future official drivers are expected to include features such as FSR Redstone and frame generation via machine learning. These improvements will be part of the final official drivers once AMD combines all the preview updates into one release.

Performance and Experience
As for real-world experience, the 25.10.1 preview drivers don't change much except for Battlefield 6 support. If you already had the previous drivers installed, you might notice very little difference. The drivers are stable, but official releases may offer slightly better performance, especially in Battlefield 6, as AMD continues to optimize the game.
Even if these preview drivers have little impact, they are important because they indicate the direction AMD is taking with future updates. Watching how these drivers improve over time gives us an idea of how the official releases will perform.

Final Thoughts
The AMD 25.10.1 preview drivers are primarily useful for Battlefield 6 and offer minor UI and system notification improvements. While they don't drastically change your gaming experience yet, they prepare your system for the official releases, which will likely further improve performance.
If you are playing Battlefield 6, these drivers are a good start, but you may want to wait for the official ones for better performance.
Sharing your experience with these drivers in the comments helps others understand how effective they are. Meanwhile, small moments in life —like watching your pets or observing your daily routine while testing —make the process more fun and personal.
