There’s a new gameplay trailer out for Batman: Arkham Knight that shows off an antagonist, more vehicle play and a new Fear Takedown move. It’s dark and grittier than ever, with more futuristic gadgets than ever as well.
As usual, the bat first takes the time to scope out a location; in this case it’s the Ace Chemicals plant that has some criminal activity inside of it. Plant workers are being terrorized by an incoming army of soldiers, which possess a staggering amount of resources. Aircrafts are being loaded with troops and even tanks. Before taking out the forces in charge, Batman decides to play taxi for one of the employees there, dropping them off in a remote location.
Aside from being a driver to the needy, the Batmobile is also an assault weapon in Batman: Arkham Knight. In the clip, we get to see how the car can seamlessly crash a party, change form and commence action as a battle tank, complete with rocket power and full strafing abilities. One of the key elements of the hero is that use of deadly force is forbidden, but this omission will surely be explained in the game itself. In the known melee combat system for the game, Batman can be seen swiftly roughing up a few hoodlums, with some takedowns that make use of the environment.
The clip reveals that the villain, whom is called the Arkham Knight, is nothing more than someone wearing a robotized suit in Batman form. Even villains have more gadgets than ever. More gameplay aspects from this trailer series will follow on a later date. We’ll assume it’s going to be dark, gritty and feature technology doodads.
Batman: Arkham Knight is coming to PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4. If you preorder the game, you’ll be able to play with a busty Harley Quinn, as seen at the very end of the clip.
