Biomutant, the fantasy open world RPG that has been promised since 2017, received a huge discount for the Collector's Edition Pre-Order that was quickly removed.

Although Experiment 101's long-awaited Biomutant is still without a release date, players eagerly awaiting the game's debut have some promising news. According to a listing on Amazon through IGN, the game's PlayStation 4 collector edition was running for $59.99, down from its original price of $120.

With the collector's edition, players will receive a statuette of the game's feline hero, a fabric poster of the game's boxart, as well as the game's official soundtrack. For all of this, $120 seems an almost expected price, though its recent decline to the price of a basic pre-order is pretty shocking.

For those who are unaware, Experiment 101's upcoming game is a fantasy-based, open-world RPG that focuses on combining martial arts combat with oversized swords and guns. "The martial arts style combat system allows you maximum freedom of movement and agility while mixing shooting, melee and powers from your mutations" (Biomutant Website).

Although intricate story details still have yet to be revealed, the game's premise reveals that death is leaking from the Tree of Life, and dividing the Tribes of the world. Based on the language of the game's summary, players can safely assume that this will be a game full of choices as well as action, similar to the Mass Effect series. "The Tribes stand divided, in need of someone strong enough to unite them or bring them all down."

Although the significant price drop was only for PlayStation 4 at this time, the game will also release for Xbox One and PC when it launches, though an official date has not been marked for the game's release.

During the writing of this article, the decreased price has been removed, and the PS4 product marked as "Currently Unavailable." The discounted price was revealed at 8:45 am EST on July 7 by IGN, and the listing was changed by 11:45 am EST, just 3 hours later.
