Developer Bioware has recently confirmed that Dragon Age II is currently in development. Evidence of a Dragon Age: Origins sequel was revealed within the expansion, Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening’s game box. Originally believed to launch in February 2011, Bioware has stated this role-playing epic will be released in March of next year.
According to Bioware, Dragon Age II occurs in a span of an entire decade. The player will take on the role of a character who survived the destruction of his homeland, being forced to “fight for survival,” starting off as a “destitute refugee to the revered champion of the land.”
Bioware also promises an “entirely new cinematic experience,” with “updated graphics and a new visual style.” You can view the whole excerpt (and concept art) in the game’s official website.
For their other major projects, Bioware is also working on the massively online multiplayer, Star Wars: The Old Republic, as well as the highly anticipated, epic sci-fi RPG/shooter, Mass Effect 3.
