Welcome to “Game Endorsement 101”. In this lesson we will see how you can blatantly choose a sponsor’s side over that of your consumer base. We shall see this in with the example given:

EA Sports MMA will not be released in Denmark, due to a law prohibiting energy drink advertisement. Because some fighter gear and arenas contain certain energy drink logos, this game would be illegal in the Scandinavian country.

Therefore EA has decided to cancel the launch, instead of altering the images, claiming authenticity. “Our game authentically recreates the sport of MMA in every facet, including energy drink in-game sponsorships on fighter shorts, gear, and in fight venues."

They could’ve gotten a different and locally approved sponsor if they wanted, but that would require time, money and effort. We hope you don’t live in Denmark, because your crazy laws have just screwed you out of a game. And you can’t fight back against MMA!
