In a recent press release from Blizzard Entertainment they confirmed that the multi-platinum rockers will headline a concert at this years BlizzCon.

The Grammy winning band will play a full set to close the show, drawing on some of their greatest hits, such as Best of You, Everlong, Learn to Fly and All My Life. This will be the second time in as many years that ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl will perform at the event, having accompanied Tenacious D last year.

Blizzard’s own in-house band, the Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftains, will perform a collaboration of new and old songs from the Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo universes before handing the stage over to the Foo Fighters, who are now in their sixteenth year, and looking to promote their seventh studio album - Wasting Light.

Those looking to attend the event will be disappointed as it is now sold-out, but fret not as those who want a piece of the action can obtain a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket that will feature, “comprehensive live coverage,… including Foo Fighters performance, via Internet worldwide and DIRECTV in the US .”

“There's no better way to cap off two days of gaming entertainment than by blowing the roof off the convention centre with an awesome rock concert,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Everyone attending BlizzCon and watching from home can look forward to ending the show with a bang when Foo Fighters bring the house down.”

Those interested in ordering their ticket can visit www.blizzcon.com/live-stream/ for pricing and more details; in what should be over 50 hours of live coverage.

BlizzCon takes place on October 21-22 at the Anaheim Convention Centre.
