Microsoft Teases New Reward System

Improve the Xbox Live community by rewarding those who actively contribute to positive online interactions

During GDC 2014 Microsoft announced that they’re attempting to improve the Xbox Live community by rewarding those who actively contribute to positive online interactions. Partner and Development Lead Frank Savage explained that instead of penalizing players for negative behavior this system is intended to encourage a positive atmosphere.

As recounted by Polygon, essentially if “you’re this amazing player everyone wants to be with,” the system algorithm may recognize this and grant you a reward.

This is only in the planning stage and not in effect. It seems that Microsoft is now actively attempting to encourage good behavior and better the community. What do you think, will this new system encourage positive behavior?
