Milano Goes Ghost Busting
News by Craig Bryan on Mar 21, 2009
Alyssa Milano – the psychic sister from Charmed – is set to star in Ghostbusters: The Video Game when it’s released this June. Naturally Sigourney Weaver was offered the role first – having starred in the original film - but after declining they decided to go for someone who AOL claims is the seventh greatest witch in television history.
"Obviously, fans of the movie are going to miss Sigourney Weaver," said Milano, who seemed delighted to take on the role. "I have so much respect for that character in the movie that I hope I do the position that she is in justice. I was just flattered to be asked to be part of 'Ghostbusters'."
It’s probably no surprise that she was offered the role, not when you consider that an anagram of her name is Main Also Slay. A coincidence? I think not.
Milano has already spent a day in the studio voicing the character of Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn, the brainy guest curator of a "World of Gozer" exhibit at the Natural History Museum. "It's a little tricky because you have no idea what it will look like," Milano explains. This will be the first time she has lent her talents to a video game, but with her power to see the future, I’m sure she wouldn’t have leapt in to such a project unless it was bound to be a great success.
