Sony Surprisingly Reveals the PlayStation 5 Controller Today
The PS5 combines white and black for a strange look
News by Grayshadow on Apr 07, 2020
Today Sony decided to drop a bomb shell, revealing the PS5 DualSense controller. That's right, DualSense not DualShock.
The controller is similar to the PS4 controller but more rounded with the top portion painted white and the bottom portion black. Along with a light peering through the touchpad's opening. The buttons are transparent and the triggers and joysticks have the PS4 design, which was the best design.
There's no "Share" button instead is now has a "Create" with details about this feature coming later. The DualSense has a built-in microphone, which is not great. People are rightfully paranoid with companies listening to their conversations and having a microphone that's always on will likely alarm a lot of people.
We are thrilled about sharing the final look of the DualSense controller with our fans, and we can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on it! I’d like to close with a message from SIE President & CEO Jim Ryan to the community:
“DualSense marks a radical departure from our previous controller offerings and captures just how strongly we feel about making a generational leap with PS5. The new controller, along with the many innovative features in PS5, will be transformative for games – continuing our mission at PlayStation to push the boundaries of play, now and in the future. To the PlayStation community, I truly want to thank you for sharing this exciting journey with us as we head toward PS5’s launch in Holiday 2020. We look forward to sharing more information about PS5, including the console design, in the coming months.”
Microsoft decided to keep the Xbox Series X controller design similar to the Xbox One. With Sony, it seems they're trying something new. With the controller reading a lot of information about the player.
