It may be intimidating to start Assassin's Creed Odyssey; however, with proper equipment, the game becomes much more enjoyable.

After leaving Kefalonia, you may obtain a lot of strong items, some of which are available when you arrive on the island. And here's how you can make the most use out of it-

Ezio Set and Northern Traveler Set

One of the strongest sets in the game is the Ezio set, which can support a character for the entirety of the adventure. Equally, the Northern set is just as useful, which unlocks the Ares Madness cooldown reset.

In addition, it has four stats per piece instead of the usual three. Combining these two sets creates one of the greatest free-to-play early game builds.

Corfu Island & Early Rewards

Corfu Island is the next destination after departing Kefalonia. This location becomes available after speaking with Stentor in Megaris. The Corfu island questline gets unlocked through a purple quest marker.

This island is a secure and balanced location to explore early on because of its level 12 enemies without worrying about the plot spoilers. The first step is to retrieve the equipment from the cave to begin exploring the island freely.

Second Sight Bow

Corfu Island offers several exceptional items. The Second Sight Bow, which is a secret item hidden in the pirate warehouse, is one of the best weapons.

Although it reduces Assassin and Warrior damage, this bow comes with a powerful +200% Hunter damage engraving, which makes it ideal for Hunter builds.

Knife of Dione

Another notable weapon, the Knife of Dione, can be acquired after breaking out of the prison. This dagger will kill anyone who is below its level for sure.

Upgrading it often may be pricey, so you should be cautious with your resources. However, keeping it up to date can let you destroy lower-level adversaries right away.

Resort Shoulder Pads

The Resort Shoulder Pads, which are an underrated yet valuable item, are earned automatically by progressing through the Corfu Island story.

This piece is special because it is the only torso gear with the "Ignore Half Damage" stat, making it ideal for creating a tank build later in the game. It is highly recommended not to dismantle this armor piece.

Champion's Engraving & Cyclops Engraving

Corfu Island has access to two outstanding engravings. The Champions engraving, located on the Kidi farm, is the first, with its solution located in the northeastern part of the map.

This engraving gives 200% additional base damage for all three damage types (Hunter, Warrior, and Assassin). This can be increased to 300%, later in the game, by unlocking damage conversion in Atlantis.

The second engraving is unlocked by solving the Cyclops Engraving Riddle, which starts in a bandit camp and is completed by interacting with a large pot in Aelos Village.

This engraving adds another +100% Hunter damage. Combining this with the Second Sight Bow and Champion's Engraving creates an extremely powerful Hunter build capable of shredding enemies.

Blade of Yumminess

Blade of Yumminess is another weapon to look out for. This sword provides +250% base damage but prevents the use of abilities, which is not a major drawback early on because abilities aren't strong.

To farm money quickly, focus on the Weapon Racks in Achaia. Repeating the "Patriarch's Wall" quest will refresh the weapon racks, and loot in this region always drops at level 42 minimum, selling for a high price regardless of current level.

After two or three runs, there should be enough drachmae to reload the blacksmith's inventory until the Blade of Yumminess appears.

Sword of Damokles

The Sword of Damokles is another early-game weapon, which can be found in a chest in the Parthenon in Athens without any enemies guarding it.

This sword is prized because it comes with weapon damage and damage with swords, which are two of the most important stats for maximizing melee damage. The Sword of Damokles remains viable well into the late game, even past level 50.

Hades' Sword

After completing the Attika story arc, an even stronger sword becomes accessible: Hades' Sword. This weapon has perfect stats (Warrior damage, sword damage, and critical damage), which makes it one of the best weapons in the game.

To keep it, it is important to lie to Hades during the quest's final choice.

Buan Repaid

The Buan Repaid is a perfect epic blunt weapon for heavy weapon users, which is found in a temple in Thebes. Whistling can lure enemies away, allowing for a safe pickup.

Harvester of Time & Fork of Dionysos

The Harvester of Time is a pay-to-win, shop-exclusive spear alternative that is just as powerful.

For those not looking to spend money, the Fork of Dionysos is a good substitute as well, which is located underwater northeast of Thasos Island. Watch out for sharks while retrieving it.

Oaken Bow of Chambers

Another great choice for bow users is the Oaken Bow of Chambers. When fully upgraded, it provides 50% Hunter damage and 50% critical damage, effectively functioning like a +100% critical damage boost.

It can be found in the Tomb of the Daughters of Atlas in Arcadia by breaking a secret wall. This bow is ideal for conventional bow users who do not wish to use the Second Sight Bow.

Duas Armor

For armor, the Duas Armor set is a great early find. It is earned from the "Brother's Seduction" quest in Korinthia by choosing to keep the expensive armor and giving away the poor-quality one at the funeral.

The ideal numbers for an offensive build are provided by this armor: Warrior damage, all damage, and critical damage.

Bighorn Bow

Last but not least, the Bighorn Bow is maybe the best early-game equipment, which adds its entire DPS to the secondary melee weapon slot.

This becomes available at level 15. It effectively doubles Warrior damage and also scales arrows with Warrior damage, massively increasing ranged output.

You can buy the Bighorn Bow in the shop, but you can also get it for free with the 200 Ubisoft credits you get after finishing the Megaris narrative arc and getting to Phokis.

To get the most out of these credits, you should use them right away on the Bighorn Bow and preserve the rest for future items.
