Bloober's Cronos: The New Dawn, a bold, brutal, and unrelenting return to pure survival horror, is one of the better horror games to have come out in recent times, encapsulating the very essence of horror.
Honing your weapon is an essential skill, and conserving ammo is a big part of it. The following tips will explain various methods you can incorporate into your gameplay to enhance your experience.
1. Don't Engage
Cronos is one of those games where not every enemy needs to be taken down. A lot of the time, you can get away with running past or heading into a different room. The game also gives you a lot of options to use the environment to escape.

2. Make Use of Surroundings
The game fills rooms with various items that you can utilize, from red canisters, fuel tanks, and oil barrels; timing the right moment to shoot at them can take out enemies faster and more effectively than bullets.

3. Craft, Craft, Craft
Crafting ammo regularly using the crafting system allows you to be well-equipped at all times, often requiring scrap metal and chemicals, so always be on the lookout whenever you are exploring.

4. Gather and Store Materials
Keep an eye on the workstation stock, buy and store excess crafting materials. If you have limited space, store items in the safe box so that you'll always have space to collect more materials.
5. Upgrade Storage
Upgrading your suit allows you to carry more items; you'll be allowed to carry more ammo, healing items, and materials without being at a compromise.
6. Find/Sell Valuables
Cronos is filled with hidden items scattered across the world. Valuable items like cameras or heaters sell for a lot, with the perk of being a part of the core gameplay loop, so you're always exploring.
Selling and gathering valuables can be a difference maker when it comes to having a steady supply of ammo at hand.

7. Pet Cats
Aside from the fact that you're rewarded for it, why would you not want to? They are adorable! Petting cats gets you useful rewards, and over time, it does add up; they'll often drop keys that unlock rooms hidden away containing desirable loot.
8. Charged Shots
When you hold down the fire button when shooting, it charges your shot; using only 1 bullet, but dealing significantly more damage. These shots are especially useful against tougher enemies and bosses.
9. Target Weak Spots
Aiming at weaker points like the head maximizes damage, you could also try shooting at their legs to knock them down and to finish them with a stomp – saving bullets. The latter is useful against lone targets.
10. Reload Earlier Saves
There may be instances where you might end up using a lot of ammo in a particular section, compromising your very next fight.
It's always okay to reload the previous save to try and replay that specific part and deal with the situation more efficiently.
