The Pata is one of the standout additions from the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, bringing unique capabilities to the fist weapon category.

This weapon boasts a great range and attack speed, and features a crucial heavy-to-heavy attack combo that sets it apart from other fist weapons in its class.

Weapon Advantages

The Pata has a far more extended reach than regular fist weapons, which lets you stay at a distance while hitting quickly. It is ideal for aggressive playstyles due to its fast attack patterns.

Most importantly, you retain access to the running heavy to heavy attack proper combo, a feature that many other fist weapons sacrifice in Elden Ring.

This combo system makes the Pata an excellent choice when you're building around Consecutive Attack Talismans or the new Lacerating Crossed-Tree Talisman.

The weapon also delivers impressive poison damage output, which is uncommon for fist weapons and adds another layer to your combat strategy.

Combat Performance

Most of the time, your running heavy proper combo will stagger your enemies. Enemies using full Bull Goat armor will not be affected by the stagger effect at all.

You should expect to disrupt their activities and keep up the offensive pressure throughout the combination sequence against all other targets in Elden Ring.

Stat Distribution and Build

To achieve the best results, ensure your build prioritizes scaling strength. The Pata does about the same amount of damage on both dexterity and strength versions, but the strength build has more defensive bonuses.

These defensive gains become valuable when you plan to trade attacks frequently, especially when using the Endure Ash of War in Elden Ring.

Recommended Ashes of War

Endure serves as your primary Ash of War choice, enabling aggressive trading strategies by allowing you to absorb hits while maintaining your attack sequences. This pairs naturally with the strength-focused build approach in Elden Ring.

Flaming Strike functions as your secondary option, providing both a defensive tool and an offensive enhancement. Use this Ash of War to create space when enemies pressure you too heavily.

The flame effect also buffs your weapon damage, giving you increased burst potential during your actual combo sequences in Elden Ring.
