FragPunk Guide | Pathojen Character Abilities

In FragPunk, Pathojen is a support and area control Lancer who is good at healing, defense placement, and poison-based area denial. This character has defense tools, damage-over-time effects, and powers that help the team. 

By learning how to use Pathojen's kit, you can provide important team support and take control of map areas by using poison and defense buildings.

Poison Immunity Passive

Your passive ability grants immunity to poison damage, meaning you cannot take damage from other Pathojen players' poison effects. This immunity allows you to move freely through poison areas that would damage other characters, giving you unique positioning advantages in mirrors matches and areas affected by poison.

The immunity extends to all poison sources from enemy Pathojen characters, allowing you to push through poisoned areas or take positions that other characters cannot safely occupy. This can provide strategic advantages when fighting in areas where poison has been deployed.

Your poison immunity also means you can use your own poison abilities more aggressively without worrying about self-damage, allowing for closer-range poison deployment and more aggressive area denial strategies.

Healing Area

Your first ability creates a healing zone that restores health over time to anyone standing within its radius, including yourself. The healing effect continues as long as players remain in the area, making it valuable for sustaining teams during extended engagements or holding positions.

The area healing makes this ability particularly valuable for team support and defensive holds. You can deploy it on objectives, in choke points, or behind cover to help your team sustain through damage. The self-healing component means you can also use it for personal sustainability.

Strategic placement allows you to support teammates while maintaining the healing zone in relatively safe positions. The healing over time effect can help teams get back on their feet after getting hurt and keep up the pressure during long fights.

Deployable Wall

With your second skill, you can build a single wall that can be used for defense. This wall is bigger than the other cover choices in the game, so it protects you better from all sides. But it's only one piece, not several pieces that can be stacked together like some other defense powers.

The wall can be broken by enemy damage, so positioning and timing are important for maximizing its effectiveness. You can use it to block sight lines, create temporary cover for advances, or protect key positions during defensive holds.

The single-piece nature means you need to choose placement carefully, as you cannot build complex structures like with other defensive abilities. However, the increased height provides better protection than smaller cover options.

Poison Grenade

Your third ability deploys a poison grenade that creates damage-over-time effects in a radius. You can throw the grenade on the ground where it automatically activates when enemies enter the area, or you can manually activate it remotely when you choose to trigger the effect.

The automatic activation mode makes this ability function as a trap, punishing enemies who move through areas without checking for threats. The remote activation gives you control over timing, allowing you to trigger the poison when enemies are positioned optimally for maximum effect.

The damage over time effect pressures enemies to either avoid poisoned areas or take consistent damage while moving through them. This gives you area control and forces enemies to take alternative routes or make risky pushes through damage zones.
