This guide explains how to acquire the Crest of Wanderer in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Crests are special gear that change Hornet's combat style and gear slots, allowing you to craft specific builds.

Prerequisites

Before you can find the Crest of Wanderer, you must complete two steps. First, you need to unlock the sprint ability. To get this ability, you must acquire the silk spear in Mosshome and defeat the Bellbeast.

This requires you to focus on heading northeast on the map. Second, you need to obtain a simple key.

The vendor Pebb in Bone Bottom sells one for 500 rosaries. To gather this currency, you can use a grind spot at the bench on the border of Mosshome and the Marrow. Rest at the bench, head left, defeat the bugs, and repeat.

Finding the Crest of Wanderer

With the simple key in your inventory, take the elevator from Bone Bottom back to Mosshome. If you have not unlocked this elevator yet, you need to reach the western edge of Mosshome.

From the room above the elevator, use your sprint ability to cross the hanging cages. You must continue sprinting through the next room to avoid the puking bug.

Use your simple key to proceed west into the Wormways. Drop into the first pit you see and follow the tunnels down as far as you can. Exit to the right into a mossy chamber.

You can safely drop all the way into the water at the bottom of this room. Head left and enter the hut you find. Fight your way to the bottom to locate the crest.

Using the Crest of Wanderer

You can only equip the Crest of Wanderer when resting at a bench. When you do, you will notice it has different slots than the Hunter Crest you started with. This crest changes your combat style; you will be able to attack faster but with less range.

It also alters the way you move during your aerial down slash and dash attacks. You can experiment with various combinations of crest and attachments to suit your playstyle.
