Space for gear is vital because it determines how much you can carry and bring home. You need room for Valuables, Salvage, and Loot. Having more slots in your Backpack helps you keep more items. This guide explains how to get more room for your gear.

Getting More Slots

You start with a bag that holds 16 items. You can get more space by finding better bags. An Enhanced bag is green and adds 8 slots.

A Deluxe bag is blue and adds 16 slots in Marathon.. If you find a Superior bag, it is purple and adds 24 slots. Always check your Loadout to make sure you have your best bag on.

Faction Upgrades

You can buy bags with Credits at the Armory. First, you have to unlock them with the CyberAcme group. You need the Carrier upgrade for basic bags.

Later, you can get Carrier+ or Max Looter for the best ones. These upgrades go away when the season ends, so you have to earn them again after a wipe.

Finding Gear

You can find bags while you walk around Tau Ceti in Marathon. You can also take them from dead Runners.

Sometimes Factions give out Sponsored Kits with bags if you finish Priority Contracts or if you die and lose your gear. You also get bags as rewards for moving up in rank with CyberAcme.

Losing Your Items

Bags help you carry a lot, but they are not permanent. If you do not reach the exit, you lose the bag. You will also lose everything you were carrying inside of it. Stay safe so you can keep your gear for the next trip.
