Starting your journey in Palworld can feel overwhelming with its various systems and mechanics. This guide gives you essential gameplay tips and tricks to help you get through the first parts of the game without any problems.
World Creation Settings
Don't change the default parameters when you make your first world in Palworld. The usual setup gives you a balanced experience and exposes game fundamentals at a reasonable speed.
Changing things like experience gain multipliers might sound like a good idea, but it can mess up the progression system that was meant to be. If you don't understand how the systems work, gaining more experience can help you move up quickly.

You might unlock numerous technologies quickly, but lack the knowledge to utilize them effectively. This creates a frustrating cycle where you constantly chase resources instead of enjoying the gameplay in Palworld.
For example, unlocking firearms early doesn't help if you don't have the Ore and Ingots you need to make them. This means you have to rush to get Furnace materials and mining resources.
The default settings make sure that you learn each system step by step. You'll have time to set up infrastructure, understand the purpose of each item, and ensure that resources continue to flow in.
Using the In-Game Guide
The guide in the upper right corner of your screen is a great way to learn. It's not a good idea to follow it without thinking, but it does teach you the basics and helps you when you're stuck.
The guide provides logical paths to follow, helping you understand how the game works. Don't forget about Palbox upgrades, either. These upgrades may seem optional, but they are necessary for base management in Palworld.
As you move further, you learn more about how to take care of Pal, obtain food, get resources, and get weapons. It will be much easier for you to play the game in the beginning if you read the explanations and understand their purpose.
You don't have to follow every piece of advice, but using the book as a base can help you grasp the essentials before trying out your ideas.
Managing and organizing resources
At the beginning of the game, you'll gather a lot of different things, such as food, stone, wood, and Pal drops like Meat, Leather, and Horns. Don't just throw everything into one chest without organizing it.
Many things have specific uses, and the proper storage techniques will save you time later in Palworld. Create multiple Wooden Chests placed strategically around your base position, one near your Campfire or Cooking Pot for food storage.

Place another beside your Workbench for common resources like Wool and Cloth. Keep a chest near your farms for Seeds and another close to your Incubator for Pal Eggs. Build chests directly next to resource generators.
When your Pals produce large quantities of materials like Wood from lumbering, you'll become overencumbered quickly. Having storage immediately available prevents movement difficulties and helps your Pals deposit resources efficiently in Palworld.
Once you've form this system, unloading after exploration becomes effortless. Open each chest and use the quick stack button to sort items automatically. This feature places any item already present in the chest, eliminating guesswork about storage locations.
Core Infrastructure Setup
Set up automated processes at your base before going on long trips. When you explore, you waste the chance to make resources by leaving your base alone.
Set up the basic infrastructure so that production can continue uninterrupted while you're away in Palworld. Before your first big trip, make sure you visit a Logging Site and Quarry.
Give these places to Pals who are good at lumbering and mining. Lifmunk or Rushoar work well at first since they keep making Wood and Stone. You can later upgrade to Direhowl or Tombat to get better results.
Set up farms to grow food in a way that doesn't hurt the environment. These mechanisms ensure that your Pals stay fed and busy while you're away. This also cuts down on the time it takes to harvest resources in Palworld.
Utilizing Your Pals
The Pal menu might seem complex initially, but understanding each Pal's abilities improves your gameplay significantly. Review each Pal's profile to learn their skills and base contributions.
When uncertain about specialization, deploy Pals with multiple skill areas to maintain flexibility. Several Pals prove particularly valuable early on. Cattiva increases your carrying capacity by 50 points each, solving inventory limitations.
Rushoar excels at mining, especially with their saddle equipped. Their Reckless Charge skill demolishes rocks efficiently when you guide them through stone formations.

Foxparks function as portable lanterns during nighttime activities. Vixy generates Pal Spheres and Arrows when placed in a Ranch, providing essential crafting materials without resource investment in Palworld.
Teafant offers healing through their partner skill, addressing early game health management challenges.
Catching Everything
Capturing Pals serves multiple purposes beyond collection. Each catch provides experience points and expands your workforce options. Diversity ensures you always have suitable Pals for specific tasks like medicine crafting, crop watering, cooking, or construction in Palworld.
The game rewards catching multiples of the same species with bonus experience for up to 12 captures per type. Even basic Pals like Lamball are fun to capture and provide you with a good experience. This approach encourages broad exploration and attempts to catch things instead of selective hunting.
Maintain your basic production by keeping duplicate Pals on hand to replace workers who are weary or hurt. Don't worry about getting duplicates; they help you acquire experience and make your operations more flexible in Palworld.
Learning Elemental Matchups
Understanding type effectiveness improves both combat efficiency and capture success rates.
Water beats Fire, Fire beats Grass, and so on. If you're unsure about how these relationships work, check the elements tab of your menu for the survival guide, which includes a full chart.
Learning how to match up Pals with different opponents can help you choose the right ones.
Employing the right type lets you beat stronger enemies while employing weaker attacks on Pals you want to catch. This prevents accidentally overcoming prospective catches with strong moves in Palworld.

Exploring Priorities
A thorough search of the globe will reveal valuable items and improvements hidden all over the place. Look for Lifmunk Effigies, which are green statue collectibles that increase your capturing power when you give them to certain monuments.
This improvement is significant because catching stronger Pals becomes increasingly tricky. Look for Pal Eggs that are hidden in hard-to-find places.
Sharp rocks that reach up into the sky, structures that look suspicious, and high formations often hold prizes like eggs or statues in Palworld.
