In Resident Evil Requiem, rescuing Grace involves playing as Leon in a sequence that blends long-range cover fire with close-quarters combat. You will need to manage your rifle ammo carefully and stay sharp during scripted transitions.

Providing Cover from the Ridge

The mission starts with you overlooking the area. You can run through the first room without stopping, as there are no enemies to fight yet. Once you reach the end of the path, you will find several crates. Smash these to gather ammo before you start shooting.

You will need to use your rifle to protect Grace from a distance. The zoom system does not have aim assist, so you must be precise. It is better to aim for body shots rather than headshots.

While headshots are satisfying in Resident Evil Requiem., they are harder to hit and can lead to wasting ammo that you will need later in the game.

Remember to reload whenever you have a quiet moment, as running out of bullets in the middle of a wave is the most common way to fail this part.

Using the Environment

During the shootout, keep an eye out for red barrels. Shooting a barrel at the right time can clear out a group of enemies and save you several rifle rounds. Once Leon mentions the area is clear, you will jump down to join Grace.

This part of the sequence is scripted, so follow the prompts to transition to the next phase in Resident Evil Requiem.

Close-Quarters Defense

After the cutscene, switch to your Pistol or Shotgun. The enemies you face on the ground will often drop ammo when defeated, which helps keep your supplies up. After another short scene, you will need to swap back to your Rifle quickly.

Focus on the Blisters, as they are more dangerous than the standard enemies. Be careful with your positioning; if you stand too close to an explosion or a wall, you might accidentally damage yourself.

Unlike Grace, Leon cannot craft certain medical items on the fly, so you have to be more cautious with your health.

Combat Differences

It is important to note that Leon’s shots behave differently than Grace’s. When playing as Grace, one or two headshots will usually stun an enemy.

As Leon, enemies are much tougher and won't stun as easily, so don't get greedy trying to save ammo by waiting for the perfect shot. Keep firing until the area is completely clear to finish the rescue.
