To find the Square Socket Wrench in Resident Evil Requiem, you must head to the basement during the main story. This part of the game starts right after you find Emily.

You will need a Power Distributor and a Joint Plug to get started. Once you grab these, a boss named Marie will appear. From there, you need to head back toward the entrance of the basement area.

Finding the Square Socket Wrench

The Square Socket Wrench is near the start of the basement in Resident Evil Requiem., but you cannot reach it from the first power slot you see. If you put your Joint Plug in that slot, the water in the room gets electrocuted.

You cannot walk through electric water. Instead, go to the very first slot at the beginning of the area and put the Joint Plug there. This opens a door and lets you push a box out of the way.

Now you can slip into the Boiler Room from the back side. Since you entered this way, there is no electricity in the room.

Go to the left side and look inside the box to find the Square Socket Wrench. To get out, turn around and wait for Marie. You can wait for her to move or shoot her once to make her come toward you faster so you can run past.

The First Use: Workshop Shortcut

There are two places where you can use this tool. The first is in the Holding Cells. Go to the Power Distributor in that room. If you put in a Joint Plug, you can enter the Workshop.

There is a device here that you can interact with using the Square Socket Wrench. Using it removes a part and opens a shortcut between the Workshop and the Furnace. This is not required to finish the game, but it helps you move around faster.

The Second Use: Collection Pool

The second use is required to progress in Resident Evil Requiem.. Leave the Holding Cells and walk past the Furnace to the south. This leads to the Collection Pool.

You must use the Square Socket Wrench here to open a specific panel. Once the panel is off, you will find two slots for Joint Plugs. You have to do this to finish this part of the game.

If you use the wrench at both the Workshop and the Collection Pool, it will disappear from your inventory when you leave.

If you only use it at the Collection Pool, it stays in your inventory with a checkmark next to it. You might want to keep it just in case there is a secret use for it later.
