RuneScape Dragonwilds Guide | How to Craft Every New Resource in Umbral Sands

Umbral Sands adds several new raw and processed materials to RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Most of them form connected crafting chains, so gathering Desert Weed, Kalphite materials, Gypsum, and Obsidian resources early makes later Power Level 7 crafting much easier.

Make Desert Thread

Search Umbral Sands near Yew Trees and stone formations for Desert Weed. Take three Desert Weeds to a Spinning Wheel to produce one Desert Thread.

Desert Thread is also needed for an Adamant Logging Axe. Craft the axe at a Blacksmith's Bench using eight Adamant Bars, six Maple Logs, and four Desert Thread. You need this Power Level 7 axe to harvest Yew Trees.

Craft Cactus Fibres and Desert Cloth

Find the tall Fibrous Pipe Cactus plants scattered throughout Umbral Sands. Harvest one and process it at a Tannery to receive three Cactus Fibres.

At a Loom, combine three Desert Thread with three Cactus Fibres to make one Desert Cloth.

Make Acrid Adhesive and Gypsum Wax

Kalphite enemies provide Kalphite Ichor. Process three Kalphite Ichor at a Kiln to create one Acrid Adhesive.

Mine Gypsum from rocky areas across Umbral Sands, then process it at a Grindstone to make Ground Gypsum. For Gypsum Wax, combine one Dihydrogen Monoxide, three Ground Gypsum, and one Acrid Adhesive at a Brewing Cauldron. Dihydrogen Monoxide can be purchased from Moon Garou merchants after unlocking their shops.

Craft Kalphite Shell and Scorch Leather

Collect Kalphite Shell Fragments from Kalphites. Process three Kalphite Shell Fragments with one Acrid Adhesive to make one Kalphite Shell.

At an Advanced Tannery, combine one Draconic Leather, two Kalphite Shells, and one Acrid Adhesive to produce one Scorch Leather.

Process Obsidian Materials

Defeat KotHaar enemies to obtain Elder Curiosities and Obsidian Devices. Process one Elder Curiosity at a Grindstone for one Ground Obsidian, or grind one Obsidian Device for three.

Take nine Ground Obsidian to a Blast Furnace to make one Refined Obsidian.

Make Shimmerscale Powder and Infinity Cloth

Kalphite Wings and Greater Kalphite Wings can be processed at a Grindstone into Shimmerscale Powder. A regular Kalphite Wing produces two powder, while a Greater Kalphite Wing produces three.

Combine one Desert Cloth with nine Shimmerscale Powder at a Loom to make one Infinity Cloth.

Following these processing chains gives you the main new Umbral Sands materials required for Power Level 7 equipment and advanced crafting.
