Here’s a guide to reaching Carcosan City in Shattered Descent in Saros.

After you find the Echelon Signal, you’ll grapple across gaps and fight through the ruins. Your suit will pick up a Soltari signal. Inside a broken building ahead, you will find Eli, a survivor from Echelon III who has lost his grip on reality.

Once your talk with him ends, move through the newly opened doorway. Here, you will unlock the Overdrive skill. You can turn this on by pressing L3 and R3 together once you have built up enough Power, then use R2 to fire.

Reaching the Carcosan City

You will spend this part of the journey heading down toward the massive city visible under the eclipse. Keep an eye out for small towers with green cubes on top in Saros.

These towers shoot out beams that heal any enemies nearby. You should always make these your first target. Rush over and hit them with a melee attack to break them quickly. Keep moving through the rooms until you find a strange, twisted structure with a glowing Orange portal.

The Nightmare Strand

This portal is a Nightmare Strand. Entering it is optional, but be warned that it makes the game much harder and adds a penalty while you are inside.

If you manage to survive and reach the other side, you will get several rewards. Completing this also brings back your Second Chance ability if you have already used it.

Back on the main path, you only have a few more rooms to clear. Eventually, you will reach a wide arena with two grapple points on each side. Make sure you are ready before you step down into the center in Saros.
