Once you teleport into the Ancient Depths for the first time, start moving through the area. You will eventually hit a dead end, which triggers a cutscene in Saros.

Navigating the Biome

This event turns on the Jump Network pads. These pads are important because they let you reach high places for the rest of the game. To use one, stand on the pad and press X. If you hold the button down longer, you will jump even higher.

Checking your minimap is a good habit to start now. The environment looks great, but stopping to look up at every ledge can get tiring. If you see a separate platform or a high ledge on your map, there is probably a Jump Network pad close by to help you get up there.

Finding the Soltari Shotgun

Not long after you start exploring, you will come across a room with a locked gate. You will see a Soltari Shotgun sitting on the floor in the middle of the room in Saros.

Pick it up to add it to your gear. As soon as you take the weapon, the gate will open and two Custodians will appear. This is the perfect time to pull out your new gun and see how it works on them.
