The Last of Us: Part II was once one of the most anticipated games of this generation, until recently. The game suffered from a major leaked thought to be a disgruntled Naughty Dog employee but has been confirmed to be a hacker who gained access to Naughty Dog's servers by using existing video games from the company. Sony has confirmed they've learned of the person's identity and likely legal action will be taken, it will be harsher than when the PNintendo writer leaked Pokemon Sword and Shield details prior to launch and Nintendo simply blacklisted the site.

Today, vice president at Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, posted a new video confirming The Last of Us: Part II has gone gold. This means development has been completed and disc production has begun. In the same video, Druckmann touched on the leaks as well.

Druckmann stated:

"No matter what you've seen, or heard, or read NOTHING compares to playing this thing from beginning to end."

I do agree with Druckmann's opinion on the matter. The first game had a cliche narrative, with the world ending during to an outbreak, in this case, cordyceps infecting humans. it was able to stand out thanks to incredible writing, characters, and acting. However, judging from the likes to dislikes, along with comments being disabled, most gamers are still vexed about what the leaks likely exposed. Especially Sony's response of aggressively taking down any videos discussing the matter negatively.

The Last of Us: Part II launches this June 19th for PS4.
