Alan Wake Remastered will bring the beloved cult classic to modern gamers in a few weeks. Today Remedy Entertainment showed off new visual updates in the remastered.
The trailer highlights how the original visuals did not age well but now have been improved thanks to modern hardware.
Launching back in 2010 Alan Wake was met with positive reception but not sales. The game launched as an exclusive for Xbox 360 but during the same time as Red Dead Redemption. Which likely ate into sales as Rockstar titles tend to overshadow the competition.
This lack of sales led to the cancelation of Alan Wake 2, which was repurposed as Alan Wake's American Nightmare. Alan Wake also made an appearance in Control in the AWL DLC campaign, linking Jesse's journey to Alan's fight against The Dark Presence.
Alan Wake stars writer Alan Wake. After suffering from major writer's block he takes a vacation with his wife to Bright Falls. After the 2 get into a fight Alan's wife Sarah is kidnapped and he's forced to live through a nightmare. Having to piece together what is real and what is not as supernatural forces attack him.
Alan Wake Remastered will be released on October 5 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
