Anticipating A Nintendo September: What to Expect

Is this the calm before Nintendo’s storm?

As the gaming world buzzes with anticipation, all eyes are on Nintendo and its upcoming announcements. Even though Nintendo is not planning on attending Gamescom 2024, it is not proof that the Switch will not be offering any games there. Considering the Nintendo Switch and other future consoles, there continually exists the possibility of independent games being up for grabs. Whatever can be offered, I have the rundown for you.

Since the new Pokemon game seems to be taking shape as a very enjoyable experience, it will be exciting to observe its features and gameplay. We are without any gameplay footage to base our opinions on, but based on the concept and promises, it sounds like a blast. But I believe we can all agree that the question of when we will see further information from this game has been on everyone's mind.

Now, in most cases, a Pokemon Presents contains additional content relating to a Pokemon game. Nevertheless, Pokemon Legends Z-A may soon reveal something substantial. That, or supplemental material for their mobile games.

Germany will play host to next month's Gamescom. As stated before, Nintendo will not be attending this year's event, according to a spokesman who announced in April.

Plus, from August 21st through the 25th, it looks like the Pokemon company will be part of the roster highlights, even though Nintendo will not be present. It is for this reason that I am hinting at the possibility that in the announcements, in September, Nintendo will finalize even more titles so that the Nintendo Switch 2 launch has a robust roster.

Moreover, intriguing speculations have surfaced about an upcoming Nintendo Switch game. The Slovakian merchants also claim to have heard rumors that it will be available on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One X. In this case, we're talking about Tales of Xillia Remastered. This information has been sourced via our team's work on the gaming leaks subreddit. Moreover, it has been reported that the box art has the same remastered logo as Symphonia's remaster. The artwork is not ultimate, according to the disclaimer. In all likelihood, this will be unveiled at the September Nintendo Direct.

September is when Nintendo hosts their Nintendo Directs. It has been quite consistent throughout the years that have passed. It's the Nintendo Switch 2 that is the change. We currently know that sometime in the fiscal years of 2024 or 2025, Nintendo will unveil the Nintendo Switch 2—not the release, but the announcement. So, March it is.

Obviously, Nintendo has a few opportunities here. One possibility is that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be unveiled in September. So they have plenty of time to launch the Nintendo Switch 2 with a bang and ensure a successful launch for Nintendo and the Switch series.

Some may be asking if Nintendo will introduce a new system or whether this will be more of a low-key announcement; in other words, will it be like a penny dropping onto the ground without much parade? I would think this will sustain them for at least three to five years. This is significant. Guess we will find out in September when they could also disclose a few titles.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Nintendo may choose to introduce the Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date, outside of September, turning the event into an ordinary Nintendo Direct. Taking that into consideration, there will inevitably be titles that Nintendo just cannot announce, lest it be assumed that they are for the Nintendo Switch 2. Given that Nintendo will not be attending Gamescom, I believe that the September Nintendo Direct will still go forward as planned.

In practical terms, the September Nintendo Direct will only serve as one of many Nintendo Directs that span the subsequent six months. Simply because it is their customary behavior. Beyond that, they do sometimes announce projects that are slightly farther out. Still, I believe Nintendo will continue to support the existing Nintendo Switch for the next six months.

Even if the Nintendo Switch 2 revelation is delayed for September, I would nonetheless remain happy to see more Switch games—both new releases and ports of previous titles—sincerely, because I love playing them. There could also be some updates to the Nintendo Switch Online features.
