Whenever Capcom releases a Resident Evil game, it becomes a big deal. And we all know that Capcom is working hard on remaking several RE titles along with RE9. While fans are highly anticipating RE9, the excitement is even higher this time because Capcom is about to release another RE Remake very soon.

After the remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4, fans can't wait for what comes next. There are many games in the Resident Evil series that need to be remade, but a lot of people are speculating that Resident Evil 0, the remake of Resident Evil 1 from the GameCube, and Resident Evil CODE: Veronica will be the next ones.

Fans have been hoping for a remake of Resident Evil 0 for a long time, and the leaks are accurate—this could be the next big remake. Insider Dusk Golem says that Capcom's K2 and M2 teams are working on it. These are the same teams that worked on the RE4 version and its Separate Ways DLC. This makes sense since RE0 is the first game in the Resident Evil storyline. Remaking it would be a great way to connect it to the beginning of the series.

Of course, there's also a chance that Resident Evil 1 will be updated in some way. Many people already think the remake for the GameCube in 2002 was a gem, but an over-the-shoulder remake using the RE Engine would be even better. A remake of Resident Evil 1 would be a great way to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary, and fans have asked for it, so it's hard to say no.

It seems like the idea of making a new Resident Evil 1 game has more weight behind it. An avid Resident Evil 3 fan recently wrote on Reddit about meeting Nicole Tompkins, the actress who played Jill Valentine in the version. The Reddit user said that Tompkins smiled when asked if she would play Jill again in a remake of RE1. This made fans go crazy. Even though this could just be a joke, it's hard not to get excited about the idea of some kind of gathering for Resident Evil's most famous characters.

We are going to talk about Resident Evil CODE: Veronica now. This entry has been a fan favorite for a long time. There have been rumors of a possible playtest for the game, but none of us knows when or if it will be remade. Some people think it will come after a version of RE0 or RE1, since knowing about those games would help set the scene for the story of CODE: Veronica. Capcom hasn't said much about their plans, but it seems likely that CODE: Veronica will be remade at some point. The only question is when.

There may also be in-game sales in these remasters, which wasn't possible in the previous generation's remasters, according to leaks. Strangely, both Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 have only been rated for Xbox Series X/S by the ESRB. Fans think that these remasters will finally be available on PS5, PC, and maybe even the Switch 2. Capcom is giving these games their full attention, even though they can already be played because they are backward compatible.

When will we hear official news about these remakes? The Summer Game Fest seems like the most likely place to find out. It's a safe bet that we'll hear more about one of these remakes soon, since Capcom always shows off their work at the event. Some sources think that the announcement could even happen at the same time as a release before Resident Evil 9. This would be a throwback to the series' roots before getting back to the main story.

What do we think will happen? What will it be? CODE: Veronica, Resident Evil 0, or Resident Evil 1? Based on the leaks, the most likely candidates are either Resident Evil 0 or Resident Evil 1. There could be a big announcement this summer. With all the leaks and hints, it's safe to say that Resident Evil is about to return to its roots in a big way. Fans will just have to wait and see.
