Citizens Sleeper is back! Jump Over the Age and indie label Fellow Traveller have just dropped new footage for Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. It was hinted at in the animation video from last year that this Sleeper is distinct from the one in the first Citizen Sleeper game. Shortly after evading their corporate masters, this Sleeper was taken captive by a local criminal group headed by Laine. A broken body, a bounty on their head, and a complete loss of memory have sent them running once again after a futile attempt to escape slavery.

Citizens Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, the eagerly anticipated sequel to a highly praised game from 2022 and also nominated among the best Role-Playing games of 2022, transports you to the Starward Belt, a decrepit collection of colonies in an asteroid belt teeming with mysteries, backstories, and individuals battling for survival. You take on the role of a Sleeper, which is a simulated human mind that is housed in an artificial body. You now have to get away from both the gang that wants to control you and the company that made the artificial body. Acquiring a ship, forming an alliance system, and taking on difficult contracts are all necessary for you to keep one step ahead of your pursuers and construct a future for yourself.

Serafin, a reliable pilot and fellow escapee, is the first member of your crew. The contracts that will keep you in the air, though, will require a wide variety of skills, including scrappers, engineers, and others. Picking the appropriate crew is crucial, as contracts take place far from the taverns and stores of the Belt's many centers. Each high-risk task has its unique hurdles, and failure is as close as a few bad dice rolls. A unique tabletop-inspired gameplay will take place when you select a character, customize your talents, and build a team. As you navigate a complicated environment and face tough decisions, your fate hangs in the balance. Fans of the first game and newcomers to the genre will both enjoy this rich narrative RPG that builds on Citizen Sleeper's award-winning concepts.

These elements build on the first game's intriguing table-top role-playing game-inspired concepts.  The trailer shows off some gameplay from the highly-anticipated sequel, which many have been waiting for. Not only that, but Fellow Traveller has announced a release schedule for early 2025 and added Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 to the confirmed platforms list, which already included PC, Xbox, and Game Pass.
