All hands on deck, mateys! People distraught about Disney's cancellation of the huge Pirates of the Carrabean MMO, can rest on their scurvy ears. There is a known RPG that will pick up the slack and hoist anchor, but enough with the seamen puns!

Deep Silver and Piranha today announced they will make a sequel for their popular game Risen, dubbed Risen 2: Dark Waters. Set several years after the first game, the game will see monsters rise from the watery depths of the sea, which is going to set the local fishmonger’s economical plans in a bit of a dip.

Risen 2: Dark Waters promises piraty goodness that can make Jack Sparrow blush.

The game will subsequently take on a more tropical setting and the pirate theme will be played throughout several island locales. Yet, Risen 2 promises to not be as colorful as you’d think from a tropical paradise; rather it will be dark and gritty with full day and night cycle affecting gameplay. The decisions made in the game will establish the path that you will take and will shape your world.

No release date has been set so far, but what is known is that Risen 2 will launch on PC and consoles alike. In the meantime, enjoy the first 3 artwork shots.
