Fans now have more reason than ever to think that Dispatch will be back for a second season after a wave of new information came out about it. The latest news about the game, along with its record-breaking sales, has pretty much secured its future and made it possible to add new material in the coming months.

A recent report covered what the developers and voice actors said about the hints they dropped about a major Critical Role reveal. A lot of that mystery remains, but today we're talking about what the next age of Dispatch might look like and the smaller news stories fans may have missed amid all the excitement.

One of the biggest surprises came from the developers themselves, who said that more Dispatch material is on the way, but none of it is playable yet. As of now, you can pre-order the first batch of Dispatch gear, which includes T-shirts, stickers, and the highly anticipated SDN mug.

This drop of merchandise isn't just a party for fans; it's also a way for the community to directly help the company. And after the ups and downs this independent band has been through, more help may be crucial to how big Dispatch can get.

Something can change if two million people play.

Two million sales in the first month is a good number for a medium-sized company, but it's a huge deal for an independent game that was almost scrapped more than once. The company might have shut down if Critical Role hadn't stepped in with emergency funds to keep the project going.

Now that there is less financial pressure and a huge demand, producers almost have to expand Dispatch's world. The only real question is what kind of second season there will be.

Fans can be sure that there will be more romance. According to writer Pierre Shorette, the team cut more romance from the final version because they didn't think players would care as much about it. The answer made it clear this was a mistake, and plans are already underway to fix it.

The community quickly chose Invisigal as their favorite character, making the second romance choice in the game less important. This huge vote may affect how her story grows in season 2. Still, fans want more options, like adding characters like the always-popular Malevola, whose history, ranging from cult to real-life demon myths, could be used in more stories.

Cut characters, Fan favorites, and who might come back.

Psychic, who used to be on the Z Team but was cut, is another figure who piqued people's interest, even though they didn't get much screen time. Fans were deeply moved by her brief appearance in the last episode, which led many to think she might return in a bigger way.

Brainbook is a more likely choice, especially since the authors are about to share more SDN heroes. Robert's job with the Z Team was meant to be temporary while his suit was being fixed. No one thought he could get much done with a group of ex-criminals, especially since the Phoenix Program was seen as a failure.

But the Z Team went against expectations and became real stars by the end of the season. Obviously, this event will change the way things work at SDN offices. In Season 2, there may be more in-depth interactions between the Z Team and the established group of downtown heroes. There may also be higher-risk tasks that put the former bad guys in really tough situations.

The new responsibilities may also cause problems because these changed characters will be facing real expectations and results for their actions for the first time.

There's no new episode, but there's a new update.

Even though the much-anticipated new show didn't debut this week, Dispatch fans still got important news. The developers released a new patch for both Steam and PS5 to improve the game's speed and fix remaining issues.

The most important fix addressed a problem with the "Hacked by Robert" title that prevented the platinum trophy from being earned. It should now be possible for players to complete their award hunts without further issues.

With rising sales, active development, growing community support, and storylines that are just ready to be pulled, Dispatch looks like it will definitely have a second season, and maybe even a lot more. Now, the only thing left is the public news.
