EA announces Madden NFL Arcade for holiday release

Electronic Arts announced it will have Madden NFL Arcade on virtual shelves Dec. 13 on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

Similar to EA's 3-on-3 NHL Arcade, EA has mixed things up with the mini Madden, including five-on-five games, a smaller playing field of 60 yards and no penalties or field goals. The first one to score 30 points wins and it will feature a more cartoon-like appearance.

They've also added 13 "Game Changer" power-ups that will allow you to get the upper hand, including hiding passing icons and freezing their players.

The game will cost you $15 or 1200 and will feature up to four players locally or one-on-one online.
